And that's fine. I'm just a firm believer in the game rewarding you when you go about playing it the right way. Just look at Poplarville from two years ago for example. I think winning a state title is a whole lot sweeter when you do it in house with home grown folks who are intertwined within the community. That's proof that old-fashioned hard work pays off.

There's nothing wrong with having a goal set to win a state championship. Is there anything sacred to you about high school football anymore or is it a "win at all costs" kind of thing? I realize you want to see Hattiesburg win a state title in the current era, but how do you want Hattiesburg to go about winning it?
-
Ok, but why has it gotten tough for Hattiesburg to stay relevant? Is there not enough talent within the Hattiesburg School District to win with who you have? People legitimately moving in is one thing, but to go out and actively recruit players that would have had nothing to do with Hattiesburg had they not been "recruited" is a totally different thing. These players have no ties to Hattiesburg otherwise.

Even if it is an old Big 8 stadium, putting the emphasis on the facility isn’t as imperative. The emphasis needs to be on the personnel and how that has evolved or changed since the respective spring games.

Last year I was able to print it in early August from the Capital Sports MS site. It'll probably be ready within the next week or so.

Don't they usually play this game on a Saturday too?

I guess Tupelo's motto is "Be Bold" LOL!
-
We can also look at this from another angle as well. Does Tupelo have automatic protection from the MHSAA? In other words, they do what they want and the MHSAA allows it.
-
So you are supporting open and blatant fraud. How is this ok? I guess Tupelo must feel empowered and emboldened, as if Tupelo is going to cheat and there's nothing you can do to stop them. Were Tupelo and Petal born from the same womb or cut from the same cloth?

I know about the Wayne County turf and I can't disagree with your sentiment on it. I was referring to the new West Jones turf. I'm hoping it doesn't look as mustardy as the initial renderings.

Being able to hit that reset button for Wayne County is probably a good thing. Glad y’all were able to get Kat in the boat.
-
On the new turf too. Gonna have to see pictures of it when it’s done.

It sounds like that superintendent needs to go sing with the Italian Castrati. He'd fit right in. -

If there's anybody being overlooked in this bogus poll, it's West Jones. -

Stone would be above Lafayette. Just disregard all of this. -

I'm sure there's more errors. This thing needs to go to file 13. -

Gautier isn't 5A anymore. You're gonna need a replacement and Ridgeland is 6A. -
Might want to get some caffeine coming out of hibernation, but what about the home and home that West Jones and Jackson Prep had in ‘23 and ‘24? West Jones won 21-6 at home in ‘23 and Jackson Prep won 42-7 at home in ‘24. As long as teams are fairly evenly matched, MHSAA and MAIS schools can compete with one another. You can’t use the Coronavirus as an excuse for this example either.

State was also up a TD in game one as well. A good bullpen would have used that size of a cushion as leverage.

Its now officially football season

The only "for sure" wins on the schedule are UL Monroe and Tennessee Tech. I don't think State is favored in any of the 10 remaining SEC/Power 4 games. In order for State to get to 6 regular season wins, they'll need 4 upsets at minimum. If there ever was a prime example of a head coach being in over his head, this is it. -

I'm glad you have that optimism. If they could win all 6 of those, I'd be thrilled.
