I don't know if this guy would rank anywhere, but when you look at Aycock at Stone he went 3-7 in year one, 6-6 in year two, and 8-4 in year 3. This will be his 4th year at the helm and he's improved every year. I think you would have to give 1st place to the Brookhaven coach, but after that it's difficult because the new coach at West Point has yet to win a game as head coach there.
-
Do they still have the same baseball coach? He's been there a long time too. You have to tip your cap to these old timers. They've set standards and benchmarks that probably no one else will reach.

The rise of Germantown is no accident. It's quite intentional.

That one is always a tough region. There's no reprieve there. If there was a reprieve, it would have to occur in the non-district portion of the scheduling.

Remember that 3 year run where we played New Hope every year from '01-'03. Back then the state championships were on campus and New Hope got 2 of 3 at home in '01 and '03. Picayune got 2 of 3 at home in '02. Needless to say, whoever was the home team didn't lose.

So that's why he coached in New York. -
A lot of unknowns then.

Is Jans still in play for the Kansas State job or did they hire someone already?

@Dawg83check this article out. It was back when Pigott pitched a complete game and won the series. Impressive stuff. https://hailstate.com/news/1970/1/1/935644

Back when Pigott was on the mound. Indeed that was many moons ago.

If State can win 2 of 3 in Fayetteville, I'll be ecstatic. I don't remember the last time State has won a series there. It had to have been many moons ago.
-
There was also no double first base in Biloxi last night. I thoroughly enjoyed that.
-
Who won the USM-Ole Miss game? SEC Sports doesn’t give a final.

That baseball game tonight was well worth the price of admission. Glad I got to see it in person. When Ace Reese hit that grand slam it was flat exhilarating, and you could feel the momentum shift. I haven’t experienced anything like that in a long time. It was definitely a great night for baseball.

Hopefully Foster can have a quality start tonight. It's a sellout crowd tonight, so hopefully he can try to put the emotions aside and take it one pitch at a time. It'll be a good night for baseball.

Pound is just going to have to weather the storm for the next 2 1/2 months. After that he should be able to get his guys in. Do you think he will do anything in regards to spring football? I realize he probably wants to hit the ground running, but with the current situation he may not be able to. -

I also think he isn’t stepping into the worst situation possible. Is it going to take some work? Yes, but he knows that and he’s probably eager to get to work. If you’re not playing Wayne County, I tend to think you would want him to turn it around there. I also feel like he can put some fresh air into the program that the community needs. -

That’s very true. Hopefully he has a vision and can bring that vision to fruition. It’ll take all of Wayne County to get behind and support him. -

Apparently it will go 4 votes and the board president will break a tie, so he just needs a 3-1 vote in his favor. -

So this will be when the formal vote takes place. If it is Pound, I think he probably needs it to go 4-1. Ideally it needs to be unanimous, but 4-1 is still a very good scenario for him. Hopefully it will go good for y'all. -

Archer, don't make me go down that rabbit hole LOL. The goofy looking "P" logos are not solely confined to Pascagoula. You can call me a minimalist or a traditionalist, but I remember a time when the slanted P with the wave didn't exist for Picayune. We had the Tidesman logo, numbers on the side of the helmets, and the baseball team used a block P on their hats. It was just a cleaner, "no frills" look. I'm afraid that when Picayune gets new turf, you won't see the Tidesman logo anymore. The slanted P with the wave started with the baseball team years ago, but after Picayune won the 4A state baseball title in 2002. It has slowly taken over for some reason or another. -

I think Columbia was happy to see him go. I don't think Wayne County will have to worry about him.
