Well this time next week we will have a winner in this game. It should be another shootout like 3 weeks ago, but can Picayune make adjustments to slow Irving down? If anyone has any thoughts about this marquee matchup, please feel free to share them.

Wow! That definitely was a game. It’s a shame that Neshoba ended up on the wrong end of the deal again. That definitely wasn’t a wrong call though.

Yes the turnovers ended up biting West Jones in the butt, but man we needed a test like that. I still think y’all played one heck of a ballgame and I know you are not happy with the outcome, not necessarily because of the final score but because of how things kind of unraveled there in the end. Have a safe trip back home Merlin. We’ll have our hands full again next week for sure.

@Merlin needs to quit lurking behind the shadows and give us some insights 4 hours before kickoff. I'm afraid that won't happen though LOL!

I know the women lost the other night, but there's really no shame in that because they are still trying to figure things out and South Dakota State was not an easy place to play. At least they fought to the very end and gave themselves a chance to win. It's good to see that kind of effort from our women's program. I think they'll turn the corner sooner rather than later.

Just the energy behind this team is refreshing. It's great to see how things have happened so far. I know I'm excited for both our men's and women's teams.

Ain't nobody forgot this game, it's just that Neshoba hasn't done anything to change the narrative when these two teams meet in the playoffs. Until that narrative changes folks will just keep penciling in West Point as the winner and it hasn't failed yet. If Neshoba can give West Point a game, then that will be well worth the price of admission. Hopefully that game up there tonight will be a barn burner.

If we can put together some of those signature 8-9 minute Maroon Tide patented clock eating drives, then our chances of winning are probably 10 fold at that point.

Well yes they definitely are better than Gautier defensively and probably Laurel for that matter. It's going to come down to who wants it more and I believe we can win this game if we can control time of possession and limit the number of drives that West Jones has. Our defense has been stellar so I think they will continue that dominance tonight. We'll just need a few stops and some takeaways won't hurt either.

All they have to do is change the east to west and they will be mostly correct there since West Jones used to be called Northwest Jones.

They definitely are. I think it will be a 4 quarter battle and you can throw away any previous records, stats, scoring margins, etc. I like Picayune's chances in this game, but we are going to have to play a clean football game and execute for 4 quarters. I'm not even looking ahead to next week.

Just think, what if Jimmy Johnson was the head coach for Picayune instead of an assistant for one season? He was still early in his career at that time and hadn't quite yet been discovered.
