Interesting score here. I reckon this puts Clarksdale in the driver’s seat.
-
I bet they are wishing they didn’t go independent. That’s a great win for Murrah.
-
What I’m curious to see is how McComb, Columbia, and Poplarville shake things out in the playoffs. Obviously Columbia and McComb has the makings of a marquee matchup. I personally think the 4A South representative will be able to hold their own against Louisville. Louisville would obviously be the favorite, but 4A South can definitely win the whole shebang.

A win or a loss in football at Biloxi is just like water rolling off of a ducks back. It doesn't affect them one way or the other.
-
The deal with Biloxi is they've never been a threat in the current era of football. The most they've ever been able to do is get to the second round of the playoffs and even then it's only happened just a few times. Do they have money and resources? Sure, but that has no bearance on winning football games. You have to have buy in, community support, and talent. For some reason or another it hasn't met or exceeded the threshold to get them into consistent winning and consistent deep playoff runs. I just think their priorities are elsewhere and that's ok.

It's been a long time since Hancock beat George County, like 30 years or 31 football seasons. Maybe they get it done, but they'll have their hands full in doing so.
-
@coastballfeel free to explain your reasoning. I haven't voted one way or the other yet, so convince me.
-
Why do they win it?

So if State is non-competitive in their remaining conference games, goes 0-8 in conference play like you say, gets shellacked by OM in the Egg Bowl, stops the post season bowl game streak, and is just flat out lethargic then wouldn't that make things crystal clear for Zac Selmon? It'd be like having a bowl of red beans & rice at that point. You would be practically fool-proofing the decision making process. I don't think things will be quite that simple though in how it plays out.
-
Exactly. It's really not a bad idea.
-
If Mississippi wants to counter that, then I say bring back Colonel Reb and let the OM Band play Dixie again. Then, you'll have a slobberknocker of an Egg Bowl.
-
This definitely isn't a good take or it's a take looking through the OM point of view. State may lose the Egg Bowl, but they certainly won't keel over like you think. If State will wear the uniform that I think they'll wear in the Egg Bowl, Mississippi better look out.
-
I honestly don't see how State will go 0-8 in conference play. After all we are supposed to wear the Interlocking MSU uniform against Kentucky and I can't fathom how we will lose a game wearing those uniforms. If State decides to bust them out sooner than that then you really can't count State out of any contest moving forward. Go ahead and bust them out against Arkansas this weekend. What's it gonna hurt?
-
State has the unis to match. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Wasn't Relf a Croom recruit?
-
So what exactly are the injury rumors and what has happened to Simeon Price? Shouldn't he be a factor in the running game? Let me guess, he got hurt too.
-
JP said, "It could happen."
-
You just gotta hope for some divine intervention LOL.
-
If that's the case you might would have another slobberknocker if Hattiesburg and George County have to square off again in the playoffs because neither team was able to win that ballgame in regulation.
-
I'm glad you decided to chime in. This should be a good game for y'all. What do you think George County will have to do to secure a win in The Kiln?
-
I really think this ballgame will let us know who is a possible contender and who can make some noise come playoff time. I don't see a scenario where either of these teams miss the playoffs. When the playoffs start, how will these two teams fare against their region 3 counterparts in the first round? I realize we don't have an answer to that question yet, but after Friday night maybe we'll start seeing a clearer picture there.
-
I didn't assume that LOL! It was just a thought to ponder on.

Winona is freakin’ good. They’d probably give South Panola all they ever wanted and then some. Don’t they just seem awful nice .
-
Here’s some food for thought: When was the last time Hancock beat a good team, I mean like a really good team? I’m sure it’s happened in the distant past somewhere, but what I’m referring to is more recent times. The point being here is if Hancock wants to make serious strides forward, then you have to beat some seriously good teams. The hardest part is turning that corner, but can they do it?
-
Here's what I want to know about Hancock: Is there a tough Waffle House steak buried underneath all of that marshmallow fluff, or is it all marshmallow fluff? I reckon we'll find out LOL!

I'm not native to Louisiana, so I reckon I don't have a connection to Tulane. I'm sure it felt good to have the type of season that Tulane had last year and finish ahead of LSU in the final standings.
