  1. 99.9% of kids just aren’t power 5 players camp or no camp.
  2. From what I was told GCS had kids staying and living on campus last year.
  3. Why can’t this school retain a football coach?
  4. Please elaborate on article since you must pay to read.
  5. Not if he was born in august. The rule in Louisiana is Sept 1. Years ago that resulted in West Monroe’s best player transferring to River Oaks academy
  6. Rule is as long as a kid isn’t 19 before Aug 1st. I believe that’s the MHSAA rule as well.
  7. Why would they care? As long as some one is paying tuition they don’t ask no questions. Heck they say GCS has kids living in the school building/church.
  8. Big time recruiter. Large MAIS about to start coming after kids harder and harder.
  9. Parents, parents, parents. Everybody thinks their kid is a college prospect
  10. Jmar is a great athlete, his dad was also a great player at Meridian and Alabama. Jmar’s little sister is also a great athlete as she is one of the better players on Clemson softball team. She isn’t from meridian, grew up somewhere in Alabama. Believe Kenny has two more young boys coming up as well.
  11. They will have to do something. Very few 4As have the current structure to sit a 6A crowd and Mendenhall no Magee is one.
  12. Mendenhall’s stadium isn’t big either.
  13. They should play football at Magee. Much better set up and environment imo
  14. Are they separated at the district level? Dang Mt Olive is tiny.
  15. Lauderdale is one of Mississippi’s top 10 largest counties by pop. I get them having more than one district. Clarke, Newton, Scott, Neshoba, and Jasper all have multiple districts. Lot of money.
  16. Yes, was HC at Newton County for close to a decade or maybe a little more and HC at Newton a few years before that.
  17. You realize MRA would be a 3A if they were public school? Did you see the score between them and Raleigh? Leake and Union? Heritage against East Union and South Pontotoc? Copiah and Pelahatchi? idk if the MHSAA won a game against MAIS this past season. obviously most of the schools couldn’t hold up week in and week out vs 5 and 6A but you put them against schools close to the same size and the MAIS holds up.
  18. MAIS has a winning record vs MHSAA get this narrative still exists.. MAIS schools are small, very small, on average they play better ball than public schools of the same size.
  19. No, you play them at the same place and you continue to rotate between the D1 stadiums. Alabama rotates between Alabama, Auburn, and UABs new stadium (very nice btw), and Louisiana plays at the Superdome. No way kids should have to play in the dump that is the Vet. You think people from Shreveport complains when they have to drive 5hr to watch their team? I don’t, I think they would load up and go support.
  20. French Camp Academy is a boarding school as well. Tuition is scholarship based through Christian organizations, charities, donations, and I would assume their are families who pay out of pocket as well. and yes French Camp Elementary is a public school and park of CCSD, as far as how the two work together I do not know.
  21. I’m confused neither Clarkdale or Enterprise are listed on the list of 40 but you have them in a division. No way clarkdale and enterprise go down and I don’t think Union would either. Those three schools are growing. I know you are getting info on MDE but the way the MHSAA counts is different from what was explained to me at least.
  22. Fun for who? You see what they did to Raleigh? Could you imagine how bad GCS would have beaten Bay Springs? If MAIS schools joined with MHSAA they would only recruit harder. I don’t care to see Mississippi end up like Louisiana or Tennessee where the best programs are private schools.
  23. I saw enterprise twice this year and they could win with running a few different offenses. They have size, kids who can run, and they are physical. No need in Jimmerson going away from what he knows. I remember when people used to say the wing t was what made West Lauderdale competitive, well they haven’t ran it in 5 years and are still competitive. However if a team is winning it doesn’t make any sense to ask him to change it.
  24. According to Soules that Offense is why he was forced out.
  25. Why doesn’t Clarkdale have athletes? No school in Lauderdale county is traditionally good. From 64-2000 west Lauderdale was possibly the worst of the bunch. Now they compete while the other 3 struggle. The problem isn’t athletes it’s Lauderdale co school district does not do what it takes to be successful. Pay stinks, facilities stink, people, players, and fans at NEL, SEL, and CDale all have the mind set of “we haven’t ever been good so we won’t ever be good.” WL got lucky with McCain and community support. Clarkdale could do the same and so could the other two, their communities will support them somebody just has to get it going in right direction and change the mindsets. Get kids excited about playing, one could argue that’s exactly what Souels was doing. So the whole situation seems a bit odd. The problem is mindset not athletes. Most school have the athletes to field competitive teams. But if you don’t think you can compete, you won’t. And as of right now WL is the only one who expects to compete in regards to players, coaches, admin, teachers, parents, and community.
