Majority of the better and more stable MAIS programs are ran by long term/life long MAIS guys. Doesn’t mean retired coaches don’t do good, and sure doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be able to have access to their retirement. Herbert David King Brian Pickens Chase Nicholson Sean Harrison (now in admin) all great coaches and are MAIS guys. Magnum is doing great. Barnes and Black did great. a good coach is a good coach. as far as Breland and Wayne Aca. They sure go through a lot of football coaches over there.

Agreed, “down” has a different meaning for them than most. But make no mistake they won’t be able to replace 20 something seniors. Still go few round deep in playoffs. Lake is a team who could be dangerous, I’m sure they will be tough of defense. New OC will be interesting.

He kicked peoples teeth in and then bolted when it was time for them to get even. Maybe he knew he was leaving and didn’t want to leave a new coach with a young team and tough schedule.

They will beat SEL and McLaurin. Kemper will be much improved could see that being a good game. Nox will blow them out of the water. And no Enterprise doesn’t have big kids. They are scrappy, tough, and disciplined. Don’t know why he doesn’t call it like it is. Really makes an entire message board root against eprise. Meanwhile the people of that area are fantastic, hard working, salt of the earth people.

Based on the schedule I saw SC put out I don’t think Stockstill was expecting much from this years team. He lightened it up big time.

You really think Quitman will win a championship? Talent doesn’t mean everything. They have been having more talent than the teams in their division, aside from mendenhall, and yet consistently coming in 3rd or 4th. Maybe they turn the corner. But championship is a huge jump. Beating McComb and a down moss point isn’t impressive. if jimmenson did take them off the schedule after whipping them two years in a row then that’s not right. Take your lumps. But there could of been other reasons for the game not being scheduled. I do think Quitman will be improved but I wouldn’t put them in championship conversation yet. Mendenhall, poplarville, Columbia are still there.

You are allowed a certain number of practices. I’ve never heard of a set start date. I know Madison Central used to knock theirs out around spring break.

The fact that SE nor NE have just went to the OC at West and said “the job is your is you want it” blows my mind.

Yes it’s harder to win 6 at several schools than it is to win 12+ at some of the schools listed in original post. When a team has a ton of talent it becomes more about discipline and keeping them focused than out scheming people every week. Without discipline and focus all the talent in the world will fail. There are some staffs who are making chicken salad out of well… you know..
