Not the case for 1a-4a. Region play will have already started October 2nd for those classifications. This game was supposed to be October 9th. Which I know that limits available teams. Because most people have district games October 9th. With 7 classifications and only 5 teams per district, unfortunately there are a lot of byes now because it’s so hard to find anybody without a district game the same week as you and willing to play.

You cant blame teams for wanting to have a week off before region play starts. Most 5a 6a 7a teams are off on the week of Oct 2.

I don’t think Forest has that problem either. They just don’t want to play. Never thought a day would come when teams are hesitant to play Raleigh but Forest sure dropped that game and they can’t find a replacement. Raleigh has reached out to several teams that also have a bye that week and all have declined. The crazy thing is that it was a good game last year. Forest is capable of winning that game this year but we will never know. It would’ve been a good money game for Forest too because Raleigh would’ve brought a great crowd. Oh well.

Pretty sure I picked Tville to beat Stringer last year. I said all year last year that Tville had a good starting 11, but not much depth. Last year it came down to Simmons and Tville. This year I think it’s Simmons and stringer

Very similar situation with Forest/Raleigh. Would’ve been home game for Forest. The Forest coaches are using the excuse of it being fall break week and trying to say it’s gonna be hard to get players to show up for practice.

Lamar called us and told us the MAIS was re-doing all the scheduling for private schools and were going to have to cancel our scheduled game. But then later on Lamar released their schedule, and had an open date on the week we were supposed to play them. I take that as they just didn’t want to play us. And it was going to be a home game for them.

I agree that who ever wins the region wins North

What happen to Lamar?

Those two games will be huge and I believe any one of those 3 teams could be pulled out of a hat to rep the North Half of the state. From a talent perspective it should be Winona.

It’s a very good list. I saw Nanih Waiya in the spring and Calhoun City. Calhoun City lost a ton from last year but they still have a lot of talent. They are very good at QB and WR as well as up front on offense. Defensively they aren’t as good especially at LB but they are very solid.

I feel like State will be improved over last year but I have no idea how that will translate into wins and losses. We could be a pretty good team that ends up with a mediocre/average record.

I was right on State, wrong on OM State picked 15th ahead of Arkansas. Ole Miss picked 3rd. No pressure, Pete.

We tried to schedule Choctaw during that bye week but their AD wouldn’t agree to it. We were going to travel to their place too.

Media Days are a dog and pony show. Will be interested to see where teams are picked to finish in the league though. I suspect OM will get dinged by the media over the coaching change and probably picked around 6th or 7th. Fully expect State to be in the 14-16 range with Kentucky and Arkansas.
