I know that we didn’t win enough games to get in, but when looking at our schedule I feel as if we played harder teams than any other. If you feel like you team was cheated out please let me know

I also feel like yall were cheated out of the playoofs

This one leaves me scratching my head. Very simply put, we lost to OG by one point and NWR by three points. Therein is the reason we are on the outside looking in. In the division, everyone plays the same teams. I am disappointed we did not make the playoffs but we were not cheated in any way.

How did HC play OG so close and then drop off so steeply after that?

I’ve been wondering the same thing since that first game of the season. I assumed that Harrison Central must be really good to play even with O.G.  Then, as H.C. begin to lose, I wondered if O.G. was really down, especially with another close game at Wayne Cty and a loss to John Ehret. But, now, O.G. is playing as well as anybody in the state, and the H.C. team I saw lose to Ocean Springs couldn’t beat a jr hi team. I guess it’s just because teenagers are inconsistent. And coaches too, I guess.

Yeah I get that. That would be the hard part of coaching and relying on teenagers for your job

First start in High School for our QB and others.  Young team that found a way to win without much experience at this level basically other than some late game PT last year when it was out of hand.  They had to grow up quick and we’re very lucky to win those in the beginning. OG is almost grown now!

I refuse to talk right now  about what might happen if we play you guys in the playoffs again this year. Good luck with Biloxi.

If Meridian ever wants to be an elite team in the State again the first thing it must do is come off the money and hire a top notch coaching staff and somehow get the all the athletic male students interested in football again. I'm afraid Meridian is becoming a basketball school like some of the Jackson city schools. And having fights and shootouts and having to cancel home games is killing any remaining community support for the football program. I realize the school is almost entirely black now but up until just a few years ago there was a lot of white attendance & support for the program. A lot of these were alumni. However now there are almost no white folks in attendance any more. The entire city needs to be behind the program for it to succeed.
