But Clemson will stay high in the rankings because of their defense and a soft schedule. I do not like their offense at all though.

It sounds odd to say, but teams that play OM need to stop the run.  Lol.  They have plenty of weapons at WR, TE and backs out of the backfield, but they haven’t shown they can beat you passing yet.  Three games in though.

I agree SW, Tech is likely looking for a coach this offseason. 

Georgia Tech is just struggling, and not very good this year. 

 

Still, a 42-0 road win at a P5 program is what good teams SHOULD do against struggling P5 teams. 

 

Ole Miss came into the game ranked #20, I'd say #18-20 is about right after this game. 

 

The running game and the defense has looked great so far, but we'll see how they both look after a few SEC games.

Bobby Petrino's Missouri State's team leads Arkansas 17-7 late in the first half. 

Arkansas will pull it out I'm sure, but dang... I didn't see this one being close.

State's receivers couldn't catch a cold

And their DE's consistently fail to contain the QB all game long

Dropped passes and the defense being on the field the whole second half has killed State.  
 

This was their first test against a physical team.

Yep, pretty poor game in all three phases from State. Got up 13-0 and then outscored 31-3 the rest of the way.

 

The OL fears I had in the preseason are very real. Any team with a decent pass rush is going to give State’s offense issues. Rogers is good but if the timing gets thrown off then this offense struggles. Dropped passes were especially bad tonight too.

 

Defensively I think State is physical but not particularly athletic. LSU couldn’t out-muscle State early but when they started attacking the perimeter, State couldn’t stop them.

 

Don’t see this as a season derailing loss but it does add a fair bit of pressure to win your next three at home, including A&M and Arkansas.

State is not appreciably better than they were last year. Maybe slightly better but not much difference really. They were a 7 win team last year that could’ve easily won 9 or 10, I could see a similar fate with this team.

 

LSU is probably a 7-8 win team by my estimation. I could see them finishing second or third in the West. Daniels has flaws but he is a playmaker with his legs and that can make up for a lot, as it did tonight.

State needed that win to get to 6 wins.  They’ll beat Bowling Green and ETSU.  They have Auburn at home, so there’s a decent chance that’s a win.  That leaves them needing an upset to reach 6 now.  Assuming they can beat Auburn at home.  
 

We all knew State could be improved, but still finish with a worse record than last year.  That schedule is killer.

Eh, after 3 weeks in we'll see. 

Arkansas needed a 4th quarter rally to survive Missouri State today.

A&M lost to Appy State last week. 

The egg bowl is always a toss up. 

Bama looked like dookie last week against a Texas team that's struggling with UTSA tonight. 

 

MSU winning ~7 games this year wouldn't surprise me a bit.

I will be floored if State doesn’t win 6. I’m not gonna overreact much to a night time loss in Baton Rouge.

 

Georgia and Bama are going to be losses but every other game is a toss up at worst. Tonight doesn’t really change how I view games like A&M, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Ole Miss.

It was a game MSU should have won. Poor offensive play and bad defensive coaching cost them what should have been a win.

Our OL was a major concern of mine and we got dominated up front last night. Turnovers were another concern after the first two games. Last night, fumbling a punt at our own 10 yard line was a major turning point. You just cannot have that kind of mistake in a tight game on the road. Williams is usually very sure handed. From that point on, they had all the momentum. 

But backing up a bit, after we were up 13, our defense completely failed and they went through us like melted butter for a TD and then when our offense had an opportunity to at least put points up before the half, we failed to do so. 
 

Those were some of the critical junctions of the game and we failed miserably in each of them. Disappointing; yes but still a lot of games to play and get better and win some games.

Nebraska fires the DC after Oklahoma routed them yesterday.   By the end of the season they may not have any coaches left.

Right now GA, Bama, Ole Miss are guaranteed loses, Arkansas and Kentucky are likely loses, the rest are toss ups. Pressure that line makes Keach offense irrelevant in the SEC.

I agree with the 5-7, possibly 4-8 or 6-6.  
 

To me, the drops were more of a factor than the pressure, although the line did a poor job.  Catch some of those crossing routes and the WRs could still be running today.  They were very timely drops.
