Chunky6617
Bay springs turned in 172. That is going to guarantee Mize is 2a. Man that district will be a gauntlet

We would have to be one of the smallest 2A teams in the state at 175. That makes me think Raleigh will be really low on the 2A list at least the bottom 20. They were #3 in last years numbers. That's scary and makes m e think there can be 100 schools between 150 and 300. All bets are off.

coastfootballfanman
Based on what I am hearing. Coast 7A will absolutely be: Ocean Springs Gulfport Biloxi St. Martin d'Iberville The question is what happens with the 6th spot? Hancock or Harrison Central will have to be placed in Region 3. If I had the guess I would say they stay at 3A. Based on my research before they voted to only count 9-11 grades I had: Clarkdale, St Andrew's, and Enterprise Ckarke were borderline 3A/2A. Independence, Holly Springs, and Jefferson County would go back to 3A from the January 2A list. Union, Raleigh, and Wilkinson County would stay 2A from that list. Strayhorn and East Marion would drop to 1A from the list and Bogue Chitto and Bay Springs move up. If Taylorsville moves up I count 25 schools in South Ms. Region 4 will then be Jackson area or Meridian area and that puts the dividing of regions in play with Region 4 as: Velma Jackson, St Andrew's, Pisgah, Pelahatchie, and Puckett, or Philadelphia, Union, Sebastopol, Scott Central, and Lake. Well now I’m hearing Taylorsville only turned in 150. Which sounds much more realistic to me

Chunky6617
Just got it from a good source that Taylorsville turned in right at 145. So they will stay 1A. The 185 number they originally were given was from the old way they counted, 8-12. Edited October 5, 2022 by Chunky6617

Makes me think Raleigh and Mize will increase along with Sylva Bay and Simpson Academies.

Wildcats1980
Like someone said earlier. Schools only turned in numbers for this years 9-11 grades. So numbers will be down from previous years because the are only counting 3 classes.

Rebel Bert
MSMS in Columbus is a 2A I wonder if 2A will get 41 schools instead of 40.
