MadisonReb10
I know there are a lot of dominant football programs, basketball programs, baseball programs, etc. but this is elite stuff going back that many years for all athletics. Goes to show how good of a community and athletic department Madison Central really is, as well as one of the top academic public schools in the state. It was previously done by some other group. Clarion Ledger maybe? I can’t remember. I know it’s always based on a points system. Each classification has its own all sports award. So many points for playoff wins, so many for state championships, etc. It went back and forth between MC and Tupelo for years. Tupelo used to dominate the sports like swim, volleyball, and soccer for a ton of points but others have closed the gap. I believe Ocean Springs won it recently. I have no idea what Brick City is talking about with some community vote. It’s always been a state wide points system for that award. JagsFan77
You may vote on something but this isn't it. This is a state wide award based on points. If this was some community popularity contest MC would not be advertising it. This was earned on the field. Not by votes. If you think I'm wrong, go ahead and call up MC and ask them. All Sports Award "The scoring system has developed over the years and is based on how each team finishes in each sport. For example, a team receives 30 points for winning a state championship in any respective sport. If the sport relies on a playoff bracket to determine a champion, the runner-up receives 25 points and the teams who were defeated in the semifinal round receive 20 (and so on). Every team that reaches the playoffs, regardless of the team's record, scores points for their school. In a sport determined by indirect competition (like powerlifting or cross country), the first-place team receives 30 points, second place gets 25 (and so on), with the top eight teams receiving points." - from SB Live Edited August 22, 2022 by JagsFan77

Rebel Bert
Every team that makes the playoffs gets points for every round they advance to. It's in every sport.

I promise you I wouldn’t take the time to post anything like this if it was a “Madison” vote only. Also I would be concerned if the years Tupelo or any other school won that “Madison” voted on that. I was thinking the same thing. Why would a school create and vote on an award to give to themselves? It makes no sense unless Madison Central just likes to make themselves feel good about themselves because of all the bricks they have there LOL!
