Brookhaven @ Picayune

If Brookhaven is as stout across the line of scrimmage on both offense and defense as reported on here, then I anticipate problems for Picayune.

 

However, if the Tide rolls it wouldn’t surprise me either.

Picayune will be ready for whatever is going to be throwed there way that DEFENSE is playing extremely good at the right time and what we can say about the Offense we running it in Fashion and got that Beast in Donte Didell running with fierce and force stiff arming them down to the ground and what about that Chris Davis with him running along with Donte they are THUNDER & LIGHTNING and a awesome combo and not to mention the other backs are BOLTS we throw at them in between the Game so it's really electrifying to watch this team play they play hard and play together and that's what it takes to WIN .....ROLL TIDE ROLL!

Tide will win by about the 28 14. Brookhaven will be the biggest team they have played though

Comparing the two teams rosters, they appear to be pretty equivalently matched size-wise

I've seen them. Some of those players listed at 260lbs are really 290-300. Lol

I am going to take Picayune in a game that starts out as a grind, but sees the Tide eventually pull away and win.

Should be a good game. Picayune defense isn't great. It's not bad but it isn't great. I personally think Picayune wins a close one and advances to play Laurel for SS.

I know it has only been a month, but imho our defense has improved every week since we played you guys. it's like the lights finally clicked on for them. They have been playing well. hopefully we keep progressing, I know we will need to to get by Brookhaven.

Yeah we have a great group of coaches and they have this defense playing at a high level.

The Maroon Tide  is playing lights out right now, just need to keep focused cause Ole Brook will be a tough opponent. Need to be tough in the trenches.

Picayune will be outsized at the line of scrimmage on both sides. They do have the advantage of executing better than Brookhaven though.

Brookhaven is mistake prone and only has about three or four series of plays they try to score with. Their big one is a fake toss to one side then the QB takes off the other way. The old Jimmy Johns play they used to run. They hold a lot on that side the QB runs to, sometimes it gets called, sometimes it doesn’t . Picayune will have to shore that edge up this week, Hattiesburg had several big runs on the edge that got called back for holding. 
Picayune needs to jump on them quick because Brookhaven is not a come from behind team. They like to muck it up and make it a penalty filled, mistake prone game. Kind of like Pascagoula when they were decent a few years ago but bigger.

 

I really want Picayune to stomp a mud hole in Brookhaven, their radio guys whined all game last week about getting bad calls inWayne County. The gall of them known cheaters knows no bounds

They didn't just get that way with the cheating, Maroon Tide played them over there in 79/80 season and the running back went down to ground and whistle blew, he gets up runs around the end and they counted the 40 yard run for a TD. We heard the whistle blow on the field. Needless to say we lost the game because of that blown call, never got over it and never trusted Ole Brook since.

seriously we totally dominated hhs but those refs were horrific. i was shocked that they ever even got a holding call. he must have been the only one not paid or someything. if they are the crew tomorrow we have an uphill climb. i hope to never see them again.

That was a southwest MS crew I think Tib. In other words a Brookhaven crew. I don’t think that pass interference call that Hattiesburg scored with was a penalty either. Picayune defender was facing the ball waiting for it to come down and the receiver  ran into him from the back. 
 

I don’t know who is going to do the game Friday night 

 

 

I had to cancel my plans to go over to Ocen Springs so I’m going to go check this game out. It’s an interesting matchup . I’m burnt out on the sausage dogs I’ve got plenty in my freezer. Is that Mexican place down by the gas station that sells ribs any good?

I haven't tried it yet but the one next to Paul's pastry at exit 6 is a real good one.

That horrible southwest officiating crew will probably be at OG-OS and instead of talking about a good game being played between them we'll probably be talking about how poorly of it was officiated.
