Laurel outscores WP 37-35. Don’t really know much about the lower classes but here goes: 4A-Louisville 28, Columbia 10 3A-Nox County 35, Winona 28 2A-Charleston 21, Heidelberg 27 1A-VJ 35, Biggersville 29. Outscored the opposing team’s offenses for the entire year (37-34), had nine shut outs on the year, held Starkville’s RB David Fair to under 100 yards both times they faced them (the only team do that in his high school career), led by DT Demetrius Hill (father of Daniel Hill) who was the BEST high school defensive player I have ever seen in my life. He was unblock-able. Teams double and triple teamed him and still did not matter. All that to say I understand WJ has a great defense and I believe they will win the State championship next week. I was a kid when that team came and beat Gulfport 14-0 I believe it was. They were extremely talented. Crazy to only give up 34 points all season and still have a loss on the record for that year.
