Im gonna have to pick Hattiesburg in this one. I think they will make some big plays on offense and stay ahead on the scoreboard. 26 to 14 type game. They got so many athletes but they just don't If this was a playoff game, I don't think anybody would pick Hattiesburg to win it (they would have to pull the upset), but with this being a regular season game at D.I. Patrick, it just seems to line up for a Hattiesburg win. West Jones is more than capable of beating Hattiesburg tomorrow night and it could very well happen. Hattiesburg is going to have to play a great football game to win it tomorrow night and there's no question about that. It should be a great football game regardless of outcome. I doubt Hattiesburg’s offense breaks 20. Only way the do that is defensive scores or getting turnovers deep in wj territory. but then again I had to avoid that Facebook group last year because there are some morons over there. And I recognize west played like arse vs terry. 4 times in redzone and no points? But I think west learned from that and aren’t taking things for granted, like perceived superiority, since then. I know before this season wested had 4 games circled. Laurel, poplarville, jackson prep, Hattiesburg. They played their best all around game vs poplarville. Then the next week that game vs prep. Then followed with terry who the expected to slaughter in the last day of school before fall break and a bye week. The result was what it was. West been practicing a day or two a week for this game since the terry game (can do that when you know your two opponents in middle are no threat) And people on Facebook giving them billboard material. The players feel disrespected. They are pissed. There are good athletes at the skill positions for both teams, so it really comes down to the offensive and defensive line play, turnovers, and special teams. I feel that WJ has a big advantage at kicker. He was above average last year, and has only gotten better. You don't see it often in high school football, but this may be his signature game. It’s something a former state championship winning head coach couldn’t do. He went to petal under Marcus boyles and left when boyles did. He has rings being an assistant u see boyles at Wayne county and I think he was at oak grove for their last ring. So he has experience on several big time winning programs. But if we want to talk about a coach not winning big games I seem to recall Hattiesburg not winning big twice with extremely loaded teams with multiple d1 kids on the roster. Even Breland tapped out there and execution wise he has a band of misfits looking like 2014-2015 Laurels passing attack right now. We will know soon. No he wasn’t he’s from here and his Mom is on the school board. When he finished college he went to Alabama and started coaching with Bubba Davis and came to Petal with him. I think he stayed on the Staff at Petal when Bubba retired and Buckley took over. Then he left Petal and Marcus left WC for Petal and Corey stayed on. You guys have a good young coach!!!
