Dawg83
Don’t have a whole lot to say about State-Bama. State still a work in progress, Bama still very good. Positive news is this should be State’s toughest game the rest of the year, every other remaining game is some degree of winnable.
MSTSatchmo
I’ll admit I haven’t seen UTn play, but I was expecting them to look better offensively.
Dawg83
Looks like OM will hang on and win. Not the prettiest game for either team, but no such thing as a bad road win. The Vol fans throwing trash is disgraceful. And all over a call that from all indications appeared correct.
MSTSatchmo
I agree the call should stand on the 4th down spot in the OM game, but damn in 2021 there should be more camera angles with the ability to zoom in. The SEC office that reviews may have more than we saw, but ESPN didn’t even have one side of the field.

Agreed, the call on the field should stand and I have no idea if it was short or not... not a good angle. I've always like UT fans before tonight, but after this crapshow... I've lost a lot of respect for them. (I'm sure they'll lose sleep, ha).
Dawg83
My goodness what the heck was Milton doing on the last play of the game? Just run out of bounds? Lol. Gotta think there’s a sizable fine coming for UT. That crap was nuts.
MSTSatchmo
It was ridiculous. Beyond ridiculous, but there are still more regular fans than idiots (even at Tennessee). One guy on SEC Final just said it’s a bad look for the SEC. Wth. I think Corral may have won the Heisman tonight though. Even after throwing his first pick. rebmus
Everyone will (rightfully) talk about the UT fans. That takes away from what a great game this was. No matter who ended up winning, it was a great game to watch.
Bulldogs4
They got the fourth down call right. He was short. Ball was in his left hand against his stomach. Tennessee fans pathetic. I hope they lose out the rest of the season. Glad Ole Miss won this game.

Bulldogs4
I say that very sincerely. We were on our way back home from State listening to it on the radio. It was totally bizarre, I think Richard even got hit by something. My wife was the same as me, she was saying that UT should have to forfeit the game. I think they should have to play the rest of their home games with 0 fans in the stadium. Or better yet , let just the legitimate visiting fans attend period. Plus a hefty fine. If there were no serious injuries from all that, then it is a small miracle.

Not a shock, and I’m sure it was being worked on previously, but I wouldn’t have expected the announcement after an LSU win.
rebmus
From what I understand, the agreement was reached last week but just not announced until today. Odd timing for sure, right after a nice road win at Florida.
Bulldogs4
It was the LSU thing to do. Win a big game against one of your rivals and then announce that we are firing our Coach. That is exactly what it is. They can spin it anyway they want. Surprised a little because I didn’t think they would actually do it during the season. Would be hilarious if LSU wins out the rest of the season. Talk about an egg on their faces if that happens.
hasbeen67
LSU players may have known. They seemed to have a little more fire. I'm the same on Tennessee fans should take notice of MSU fan being glad OM won. Mostly for Lane personally, right? But still unacceptable. rebmus
67, Lane's return to Knoxville played a big role into it I'm sure.
Bulldogs4
I am older guy so growing up, State mostly was on the short end of everything in football. So as a result , State fans took pleasure when Ole Miss would lose. That has gradually changed over the last 50 years. Today I generally want Ole Miss & State to both be successful because then it makes our games with each other even more meaningful. Last night, I really did not care too much one way or the other. But after the fans behavior I was definitely on the Ole Miss bandwagon at end the game. I also thought Kiffin handled himself with a lot class after the game. Of course it is easier to do so when you win. I don’t particularly care for Tennessee mainly because of what my Dad shared with me when I was growing up. In 1950. UT lost to State in Starkville 7-0 , which was the only loss they had that year and cost them the National Championship. Whiny General Neyland vowed to never bring a team back to State. It would be almost 40 years before State would host UT again on campus. They played some neutral site games Memphis in between then. But to blame losing the game on where it was played was about as low class as their fans were last night.
Dawg83
Not defending Tennessee fans at all, it was definitely a bad look for them…. But let’s not pretend they are the first fan base to throw stuff on the field. Maybe the most egregious offenders, but not the first. You don’t have to look that far back for examples in this state alone. The Ole Miss-Tennessee basketball game from 2019, the MSU-Kentucky basketball game from 2010, the “red high heels” Ole Miss-Alabama football game from 2007, etc. I wouldn’t say any of those incidents rose to the level of Saturday night in Knoxville, but they all happened in the not too distant past and were bad looks for State and Ole Miss as well. I’m sure there will be all kinds of pearl clutching on statewide radio tomorrow but probably no acknowledgement of the incidents I mentioned in this state. Every fanbase has idiots that show their rear ends. Look, I have season tickets on the East side of Davis Wade and am constantly surrounded by fans of the other teams and you’d think that would be annoying, but the State fan that sits two rows behind me is the one I want to punch in the face on a weekly basis. Bulldogs4
SEC punishment for UT is about as strong as limp handshake. Weak, Pitiful and pathetic.

What do you think it should have been? Not calling you out, I’m legitimately curious. I’m not sure what you do other than a monetary fine. Bulldogs4
I think they should play their next home game with zero home fans in the stadium and allow the legitimate visiting fans to attend. That would put a complete stop to this stupidity. If our fans did the same thing, I would say the same. Yes, similar things have happened but nothing that delayed a game for 20 minutes. Plus it is a miracle that someone was not seriously hurt. I have been going to games over 50 years and I have seen a lot of bad behavior but nothing even close to what happened Saturday night. This needs a severe action to deter anybody from doing this again.
rebmus
I agree 4, I've seen lots of crap over the years... never anything like I saw Saturday night. I don't know if they COULD have done it, but had the refs called delay of game on UT due to the fans delaying the game... it would have likely stopped after the first flag when they saw the ball being marched down the field for Ole Miss. I also agree with your proposed penalty for UT fans other than they should allow the player's parents and visiting fans only for the next game. pancho
No PA guy telling anyone to quit throwing debris onto the playing surface? Reminds me of high school game a few years ago when a player dad attempted to get in the press box and attack an opposing coach and exactly nobody did anything. Thank goodness the door was locked.
