hasbeen67
Not just trying to troll you OM guys, but who would be better for USC now that he's been through Sabin training. Are you concerned at all? What about Freeze out there? That guy in LA? Also someone mentioned LSU. Eddie O probably gone if they can get around the buyout. And I don’t want any part of a Kiffin led LSU. I think USC gives Eric Bienemy a hard look. If that doesn’t work out then they should be able to get one of the other top names on the market. Fickell, Campbell, Franklin, etc.
Bulldogs4
Kiffin definitely not going to USCw. That bridge was burned years ago. He is definitely an enigma so what he might do is anybody’s guess. However, I don’t see him jumping from Ole Miss this fast. After 3-4 seasons (if he has had great success) then yes I could see it. He might even jump back to the NFL. If they are not careful, USCw is going to end up like Nebraska/Tennessee. Perpetually unsuccessful (or perceived underachieving) and changing coaches way too quickly. Rinse and repeat. Don’t see O getting fired at LSU even if they have a tough year. With COVID and the Hurricane(s) causing so much havoc, I think he will make it through this year.
rebmus
Funny, I had this discussion with some OM friends last night. We all agree, very small chance USC and Kiffin make up. I brought up Freeze. While I think it's a possibility at USC, I don't think they'll go that route. Besides, Freeze being next door to legal prostitution... USC better think twice. Also, Freeze's bible thumping aw shucks persona works for recruiting in the South... I don't think it will do so well out West. I can see LSU being open IF they go 7-5. IF that happens, Freeze would be a good fit there. I don't think he will be LSU's first call, but definitely think he'd be on the short list. Meyer at USC? I wouldn't rule that out a bit. Meyer would do great at USC for 4-5 years before his next "retirement due to some sickness." The NFL has zero patience with coaches, I don't think Meyer finishes this season in Jacksonville. MSTSatchmo
I could see LSU being a 5 or 6 win team, which I think would be enough for them to move on from Orgeron. I could also see Kiffin sticking around OM and passing on some more “attractive” jobs. $5m+ would go a long way in Oxford, plus he could make it his program. He seems like a good fit there. The success of his assistant coaches and recruiting will be the key. What are the odds Bob Stoops comes out of retirement for one of the big jobs? Freeze won't go to any decent SEC school again for fear of sanctions.

Probably not very high but he could do a Mack Brown-North Carolina type thing.
