Wayne County could be about to squander some real talent coming up. Sometimes hiring the local guy can be a good move, but many times it is not. Wayne county has already went this route before and got left out to dry. And the truth is, a lot of the Wayne county fans don’t just want a Wayne county coach, they specifically want a black coach. That way of thinking will get you left behind. You take the best coach available, period. If that’s a white coach, then you take him. If it’s a black coach, then you take him. If you insist on pleasing your fans and community by hiring a black coach, then they should have taken Daryll Carter.

You need to listen to what this madam asst, supt , she doesn't need the permanent position but I will get to that later today, at the beginning of this process. It's on facebook . She sat down with WABO1 and answered what the process was going to be like. Right off she said the BOE HAS NO INFLUENCE OR AUTHORITY on the day to day operations of the school system. The process of selecting a HC candidate to be voted on fell under day to day operations. That she and "Coach" Hathorne would use his contacts inside the MHSAA to get a list of candidates , she said his influence that's him talking, and form a committee to select their candidate . The candidate would be submitted to the board for their vote by her at the next board meeting . Well that's what happened . The board was blindsided about the salary part because they were not let in on the process. Now they approved the amount. I'm sure that Mitch already knows that.

He may tell them to f off now I'm not sure.

I'm going to lay something out for you chunk. You are my boss. You call me in and say hey slick I want you to get together a group of guys that you feel have experience on this and ya'll figure out the best route to go and you make it happen .We need to buy fifty 40 HP tractors for this upcoming project we will be starting on soon. You come up with the best answer and get back to me in two weeks with the machinery.

Two weeks roll around you call me in again and say lets's roll . They are chomping at the bit for us to start breaking ground. I say well their is supply issues but what we want was on a boat in Houston. I don't have them because I didn't know how much money could be spent. You look over at the Financial head and say did you know about this . He shakes his head no. 

Who's fault is it ? What happens to poor dumb slick in the real world ?

I do not believe money was the reason that there no hire was made last night.

Well that much we agree on . The money was approved for someone. They didn’t just pull the number 91000 out of the air . The man has to accept that number for him to be approved. They had to have confirmation of his acceptance to be approved by vote. 
I don’t get your meaning here are you saying they approved an amount for someone then went to the back and said i take that back let’s wait. They all voted on it. I can 150%  say with confidence they haven’t had any conversation with Lampley like that.  So who  was 91000 voted on for ?

I disagree with this but I’m also not from there. Pound doesn’t deserve it just because he played there. He hasn’t had any success as a coach that is special. He is even being demoted at ocean. Now kat on the other hand had his chance there already. Mitch was a slam dunk that is being missed.

I believe money was agreed upon in advance, and all that needed to be done last night was the board voting in the new coach. And then outside pressure forced the board to put it off. That’s my belief. I could be wrong, but that’s my thinking.

That rocky attitude in Jackson didn't get many candidates. Bubba doesn't even have that much influence if a board member at MHSAA doesn't want their coach leave.

Ah… usually when a school board holds an early morning meeting like that it’s because they know it’s during working hours and most of the public won’t show up for it. That’s how smith county would do it whenever they were about to approve something they knew a lot of people wouldn’t be happy about.

Back during Covid, the smith county school board was going to vote to force students to wear face masks during school, but enough parents showed up at the school board meeting to show enough of presence to get them to vote it down. Well that made the superintendent of smith county at that time very unhappy, because he was the one that wanted the students to wear masks. So he called and bullied a couple of board members to flip their vote, then held another meeting 2 days later during the morning hours when he knew the public wouldn’t show up and got what he wanted.

It’s long been expected it was reynolds job.  Then bubba, despite everything actually, apparently, decides on Mitch Evan’s. Which is by all accounts a very good move.  But doesn’t over enough money.  Evans gives a figure.  The board gets together to vote to approve the figure, I guess.  Then they vote yes.  Then adjurn to next week to I guess give them time to contact evans to say “hey, we got what you asked, you in board” so they they can then vote him in.  Aaaaand then he’s like “nah fam”.  Am I right?  What’s going on?

I was just told he had pulled his name very reliable source but who knows between now and Monday he could change his mind. This is crazier than the Lane Kiffen saga

I can’t say with 100% certainty that he withdrew his name, but I would be surprised if he didn’t. I believe he was offered the job, terms and money had been agreed upon, and the only thing that had to happen was board approval last night. And then that didn’t happen.

It's that time of year that every teacher, coach, administration,  etc is offered a contract. It's getting critical everywhere.
