And even if it does, there are other factors that I’m not touching on that could drive some to not want to take certain jobs. I agree with that. Very valid for todays game, too

Rawcones
If lacey leave hattiesburg he leaves Mississippi unless it's a job at the next level. It was always a 3-5 year plan with him and honestly if he wouldve won state last year he would have left. He doesn't like how sports are ran in Mississippi (he's on record saying that). Alabama or Georgia is ultimately where he wants to be. Edited October 21 by Rawcones

For those who dont know, he came from one of the most successful high school programs in the country and probably a top 5 program in Georgia. He interviewed at Pascagoula last year and had applied at Wayne County before removing himself when that fiasco was heating up and Hathorn threatened the board with a lawyer for firing Hankins.

This is facts!!! He definitely applied at WC and I also heard Pascagoula. I was shocked he didn’t get that Pascagoula job. I believe he’s a good coach

He did not interview at Pascagoula from what I was told. He apparently applied, but pulled his name out. The Hattiesburg coach who did interview was OC Archie Gibbs. He did apply at Wayne County as well but I assume with all the drama, he backed out of that too.

The community knew who they wanted and the school board wanted someone else. The community stood their ground and it seems to be working out. slicklizard
WC hasn't been 3-0 in region play since '22 . Hankins second year and the year he really broke things.
slicklizard
Interception. Drive down for a TD and beat them at their own disrespectful game. That's what WC football is about. East Central needs to learn to play football and quit whining after every play because they wanted the refs to lay off the whistle. It worked too, Dirtiest team I seen since Natchez. EC maybe dirtier because theirs was sustained the whole game. Usually happens when you are getting whipped. What happened to them they used to just line up and play football the right way ? slicklizard
IDK if huff the red was coaching for his job or something but he acted like it . He threw the kitchen sink tonight. EC played like they didn't think they could win coming in so they tried to put it in the refs hands. It didn't work. They lost the game on second down. They would gain yards running it on first down and invariably run some goofy play that took forever to develop on second and WC would run them down. They got some corn feds on the OL but they play with inconsistency. They could give someone a game in the first round It was needed. WC had to call on a different kind of craft to overcome them

He basically says he called timeout and told his guys this wasn’t the way the game is meant to be played and we were going to play it the right way. He also said they would address it further in practice this week. I like that mentality
slicklizard
There's a reason Paul put that statement from Tracey on the wrap up. He was on the sidelines too. He saw what was going on. I'm pretty sure they hurt one of the RBs ankle bouncing on it after he was down. It was something after every play. They were putting eight or nine at the line every at every snap. Their coach got mad when it didn't stop us from scoring. 11 hours ago, Wareaglefan1us said: The interview with Tracy Lampley is also in this clip. slicklizard
WC can wrap up the region this week by going 4-0 at Purvis. The first since 2013. I had to look twice at that but it's true. Purvis is one of the few places I've never visited for a game. It will be a goodbye of sorts too as they will be going back down a class. A pat on the back to our defensive staff for shaping the defense up after the non region schedule.
