slicklizard
The people that are griping about Tracey Lampley I have thing thing to get across to you, Where were ya'll when Hathorne and the skidder tire man were running kids away from football in droves. If you can' see how hard your kids compete now you can't be helped or pleased. All these freshman and sophomores getting on the field would be ran out of the building by now. Ya'll can either get on board or get behind . You can feel the energy again. Go sit and watch

We don't really have one anymore agreed but the game Friday sure brought back some of that fire. I have had the chance to go watch my Grandson once this year because many of you know my wife is battling cancer again. But I watch every game I can and Friday those kids competed their tails off. Another thing at the end of the game Lampley showed he was paying attention and knows how to manage the clock when a self admitted mistake by WJ coach almost let WC at least tie the game up. So yes be excited and back these kids up!!!

It's also region 4 turn to host, so Wayne County can essentially have home field advantage until the finals. If y'all wind up with the 1 seed in Region 4 and Brookhaven gets the 1 seed in region 3 and y'all meet up in the semi-finals, they'll have to travel to Waynesboro. I realize a lot of things will have to fall into place for this to happen, but if y'all knock off Stone next Friday it's really not out of the question at all. That's why I characterized it as a debt collection. There will still be a lot to play for if WC loses but man if we can pull it off the door knob has been turned and they can stick their head through and have a look around.
slicklizard
Moved up to Thursday. Stone has been doing a bad job as the district leader. WC thinks they can do better . The first step is putting Stone County out to pasture. After that the rest will fall in line. Interested to see what the defense has been doing for two weeks. WC showed up to play it was back and forth the first half. The defense made some adjustments at halftime and really got after their tails the second half. Coach Lampley called a good game and the guys executed well. I had heard rumblings that Stone was the big dog in the region so this is a big win for WC. Then they looked up and it was 41-14. Pound doesn't take his foot off the gas like the last HC/OC did. They were taking out and putting in those jv and fr defensive players in waves. The skill players are catching the ball now . It's paying off. Edited October 9 by slicklizard
slicklizard
It feels good putting stuff in the ride a couple of days before Friday again instead of looking at reasons not to go. IDK know what to think about Al Smith trying to bandwagon his way back amongst the faithful. Madam Supt. watch this stooge or he will be defacto running things again . Let him go support his god son Reynolds helping steer Laurel off the cliff on his program nuked tour
Wareaglefan1us
Have been very impressed with the job Tracy Lampley and his staff are doing at WC. They have four losses I know all non region games. Three of those four losses are by a total of ten points a one point loss, a two point loss and a seven point loss all in the closing seconds of the games. They are scoring points and looking really good on offense. The defense is getting better every game. The work he’s doing off of the field has been really impressive as well. He’s getting the community back involved. He has different restaurants donating food for the players regularly. He has a group of people not parents that cook for the players and a group that sees that they don’t leave hungry after games on Friday nights. It may not sound like a lot but you have to know where the program has been. He is building back the booster club as well. Player are coming back out it’s different when you have someone who helped build WC . Great job and Go War Eagles!!!

By 2028 WC will be all the way back to where they were when Lampley was a player himself.

I expect him to be the next head coach at Hattiesburg

You just need to go away. From here on out anything posted by you will be totally ignored by me.

David44
Why would he leave WC after turning things around? You are in 5A south. Brookhaven will cycle back down to some leaner years. Their history has proven that. Laurel is in the midst of the final scene from Thelma and Louise. And West Point is apparently no longer West Point. You might say for more money, but WC has enough of that and has spent in the past. They were the 1st school in this area to build a big stadium years ago that rivaled no one else. slicklizard
58 minutes ago, Vott said: BTW Bubba, Laurel is Brick City and not that stinkhole Madison that does make sense. they do want him gone. people have already tested his stance on willingness to move on. He sent word back and that was the end of it. A lot of schools passed over him during the last several years. . Tracy has never been a self promoter.. He is a shrewd winner though and will leave you crying if you underestimate him. I am trying to keep my enthusiasm tempered for now, but at some point, it is what it is. They are about to be able to throw just as efficient as rushing. Seven seniors on this team. so no pound is not going anywhere until he finishes what he had planned to do when he applied for the job. slicklizard
East Central is 2-0. Winner gets the leg up in the region at 3-0. George County ran over our defense a few weeks ago with the same grind offense. We were forced to watch for what feels like the last twenty years an after version of it, It's now known as wal mart scooter old man offense. It was horrible . That Vancleave team WC just steam rolled bullied our team and beat their arse. All that saying the offense they are bringing into our stadium needs to be officially buried. EC just happens to line up with that timeline. This will be the biggest game Pound has coached. Biggest for most of our team too. EC will have to score forty just to be even
