Talking with Tracy I believe it’s going to work out. It seems to have been made harder on him than other recent hires. I hope if anything has been learned through all of this that the people of Wayne County get out and vote people out. It’s past time for change and it’s not just in the school board but county wide. Slick is right it’s the same old names that have been running things for as long as I can remember. It’s just a different generation of the same families continuing to pad their pockets. There’s no reason Lampley can’t be successful if allowed to bring the right coaches in. He will not be successful running a spread offense with wing T coaching

WC is going back to the Boyles method. WCi is going to run again.  As is outrun. Run away from you with the ball and run you down when ypu have it.

Random observations and opions:

 

Hiring processes are crazy especially here in Mississippi. Its alot you can't do but they circumvent ways to do it. Just know big school hiring has two processes, an open public process thats a charade most times and a private process, in which is an issue but how things actually get done. 

 

You don't want the community voting on superintendents. Most people in our rural areas not qualified to serve as superintendents. Picking your church deacon or politician would not be wise but thats how it goes in those situations. Popularity contests. However, the BOEs which are elected in alot of places, are not adequate either so we get this terrible system here that sucks in these rural areas. All of them are good ole boy or back scratching positions where decisions are made on favors and popularity and backroom deals instead of whats good and make sense for the children and school at large. 

 

Good luck to Lampley. Great coach and person from all accounts. I hope they ALLOW him to actually suceed. I hope they ALLOW him the same freedom as Broyles or Mangum to run his program and give him the opportunity to coach and flourish.

Certain people wanted to put their own family given the position so he did have a hard time getting the job. He hung in there and we finally made them vote him in.

As far as the voting for Supt. it has been a horror movie for Wayne County. Branch operated like he took orders from no one and in reality didn't . At least with the elections they were local and had to face the public.   He shut his door and turned it all over to Hathorne  meanwhile burning through money hand over fist. They still don't know where it all went. It sets up a system where nefarious crap can be done through them with the school board being really behind it with both sides pointing the finger at each other . In reality they schemed it up together  behind the scenes. Forcing him out is the reason this coaching change has been like pulling wisdom teeth.

In twenty years there won't be a school board or Supt. It will be done through the State dept of education. I doubt in Mississippi that everything locally will be taken over by the state. They do everything they stop that from happening.

State will then build new state superintendents building in Rankin or Madison County if they take over every county office especially if they can't get people to drive to downtown Jackson and park due to crime and crumbling streets.

I'm sorry y'all are having to deal with that.  I just don't think it looks good on anything though.  It looks like a giant black hole that swallows everything up.  If you were to put that on a black or a navy blue shirt there wouldn't be any contrast at all.
