Nobody saw a 3 win and 1st round playoff exit coming lol Those lean years happen. Doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with the program. You’ve got a coach who knows how to win and I’m sure he was disappointed with this year’s results. Y’all should be on the rebound.
Rebel Bert
Smith County Gold Balls Taylorsville 8 Mize 4 Raleigh 2 14 Total out of roughly 21 Trips to Finals
Chunky6617
I think Tville has 11 total appearances, Mize has 5, and Raleigh has 3. I could be wrong on Tville but I think their only state championship losses was once in the 80’s, 1993, and 2007. Next season Raleigh will still be good, they have some good young backs on offense. They lose a very good group of seniors though on defense, including some who were 3 year starters. It will be a little bit of a rebuilding year, but not too much. They will still be contenders in 3A south. Tville could be in some trouble next season, depending on what other teams have returning. Tville is losing 17 seniors, and they were their main players on this years team. Definitely could be a big rebuild there next season. They should be right back contending in a couple of years though. Mize has their best opportunity for a championship that they have had in several years next season. We return 16 starters from the team that made the semi finals, 8 starters on both sides of the ball. All our offensive production returns, except for our fullback. He will be missed on both sides of the ball, but especially on the defensive side. He was top 5 in the entire state in total tackles. Tartar nation 98
Tville has 14 appearances 8-6 record. They are rebuilding for such. They will return only 1 starter on defense and four on offense. Agee coach Defense so they might be okay there.

Chunky6617
I wasn’t counting anything before the 80’s. I forgot about Scott central. That was the year Ty Keyes got hurt at south state

Rebel Bert
Owens might be going to state now that Lebby and Arnett have hired Raleigh native and defensive backs coach Kevie Thompson. Thompson has been a long time asst in the high school and juco ranks in Mississippi. He has produced some of the best defenses in Mississippi. He also coached under Tony Hughes. Lebby will address the hiring this weak. Purely a move to improve the defense and recruiting vs Moncrief being at Ole Miss.

Should be between them and Stringer for district again. Lumberton will have some athletes but they are losing 10-12 seniors including most of their o-line which was their strength. Richton had a decent year and returns some players on both sides, but I don’t think they will be much of a threat along with Resurrection. As long as Agee doesn’t schedule super tough non-district I think a 6-8 win season is realistic.

Well the schedule is the same as this year, so they still open up with Mize, Bay Springs, Raleigh, and Heidelberg. Bay Springs loses 12 seniors and I believe they will be really young next year, so Tville may could surprise them. But that young group for bay springs is really talented.
