Region play starts this week and the games on tap in Region 4-6A are as follows:

Picayune at Pascagoula

PRC at Hancock

Long Beach at Gautier

What do you think will happen with each respective matchup and what are your thoughts?  Feel free to post any insights you might have.

Picayune, PRC, Gautier win. PRC can take a big step to a playoff berth with a win. I know its only the first region game and Gautier and Goula have not played up to their standards so you gotta think PRC would still be an underdog to them.

I agree with that.  Picayune, PRC, and Gautier should win this Friday.  I'm curious to see what Pascagoula team shows up though because they have a tendency to be up and down.  PRC should roll against Hancock and that will be huge for them because that essentially will lock up a playoff berth for them.  I don't know why High was sitting on the Stone side last Friday night, but maybe Stone inspired him to score some points this Friday night.

And if you wanna discuss region 3 6A, Terry may be undefeated by the time they play Hattiesburg the final game of the year.

Quick answer says Picayune, Gautier and PRC. Does Pascagoula have a team capable of beating Picayune? I think they do. Does that team show up? Not a clue at all. LOL. After seeing how Gulfport beat Ocean Springs, I am not as hard on Pascagoula for their bad loss to Gulfport. However, they have got to figure it out. 3 game stretch they had with OS, d’Iberville, and Gulfport would be tough for anyone. If they can get healthy and get back pieces they are missing and get some better play up front, it should be a good game. I think Gautier wins by whatever they want, same with PRC.

Terry won't have difficulty with those Jackson schools and if they knock off West and George, they very well could be undefeated going into the last regular season game.  I just want some decent weather Friday night.  If I've got to load up the pirogue and push pole before I leave for Pascagoula Friday, I'd like to get those logistics taken care of beforehand. LOL

That's the thing about Goula.  You never know what you are going to get with them and you've got to prepare for them like they are an undefeated juggernaut.

Can you imagine the chaos that will ensue if Goula Hancock and Long Beach win!😲

Get ready to see what Sims has been working on in practice instead of the the last three games.

Funny thing about Lewis is it will probably work and then completely abandon it  at the end of the third quarter.

I'm prepared for the worst tonight LOL.  Let me know how things go at Perk tonight.

@Mower Man 63what the heck happened with PRC tonight?  Hancock should have been a winnable game.  Now it puts PRC in a bad spot.  This was a game PRC couldn’t afford to lose.

I said the same as I saw final scores! That was definitely one I did not see coming based on what I have seen and heard the last few weeks.

From the score and what I was told, it sounds like you guys had a classic battle with Pascagoula!

It was a war and I knew it would be.  Glad for the win and good weather down there.  It was a great night for football.

Just my personal opinion. We got out coached and out played. Didnt help that we were missing several key players but that’s not an excuse. One of those cases where being off last week hurt more than it helped. Just got to put it behind you and get ready for Gautier .

On the thought of getting ready for Gautier, this is a game PRC must win.  (This is where losing to Hancock kind of compounded the problems).  PRC doesn't have the luxury this year of playing in a 5 team region where the math automatically works in your favor.  There was a path of least resistance for PRC to make the playoffs this year (beat Hancock and Long Beach), now they've got to beat Gautier and Long Beach.  I think the latter is very possible, but if PRC wants to right the ship they've got to find a way to beat Gautier Friday night.

I'm still wondering why Stogner didn't have the punter receive the snap and then run around for a few seconds before stepping out of the back of the end zone.

That's a great question.  Time management was definitely iffy and I do think the safety was intentional, but I'm not sure if the long snapper was supposed to snap it over the punter's head.  Y'all definitely played a great game and it's usually a war when Picayune and Goula face off.

Strange game in which both staffs adjusted well at halftime.  Not surprisingly, Pascagoula's special teams cost them victory.  Although I can hardly blame the kicker for the laughable decision to try a 52 yard field goal.

Yes that 52 yard attempt was absolutely crazy.  Goula should have went for it.

Gautier has just played themselves out of a playoff spot losing back to back weeks vs PRC and Hancock. They will not get a win vs Goula or Picayune

That’s funny.  They were talking do much noise pre season about how they would be a top 2 south team after moving up from 5A. Farther proof how bad 5A south is.
