Can’t wait to see how we respond following the last 2 games to be honest…

I look for OG to come out and play as if they were 2-0. If you cant get fired up about playing your crosstown opponent, then something is for sure wrong. If I dont see a packed visitors side that tells me the fans have already given up on them. Despite 0-2 the main goal is still in front of them.

Exactly.  The non-division portion of the schedule has no bearing on the playoffs.

Agree 100%. OS was 1-4 through its first 5 last year and ended up playing for South State. I absolutely believe playing those teams early on, even in losses paid dividends once it got to region play and in the playoffs.

This is always a heavily attended game for OG as the visitors. In past years, I remember the away side being more populated than the home side. I anticipate the same to be true this year, especially given that this is the first regular season game in Hattiesburg. The last 2 have been 2 & 3 hours north.

According to friends at this game:

Home fans are sitting all in the visitor’s student section and complaining that students are standing up. So they got the SRO to come over and make the visitor student section to sit down. That’s a new one for me. Refusing to let the student section stand up & cheer? Weird.

Also, the visitor livestream is setup in the stands of the visitor’s side (instead of a press box) with caution tape blocking off the area where they are. Idk why they weren’t allowed in the visitor press box as in previous years.

Really odd goings on down there in the Hub City.

Og requested to broadcast on the visitor side. Not enough room for their equipment and broadcast crew.

I can assure no broadcast crew WANTS to sit outside. More likely is HHS didn’t provide enough space for the broadcast crew inside

Have you seen the inside of HHS pressbox? In fact ask the og broadcast crew for yourself did they not request it. They put it on Facebook

The broadcast crew said it was too crowded which wasn’t normal compared to the past.

That is true. The pressbox is divided in 3 sections. The broadcast teams of both HHS and the visitor’s have to share a side of the pressbox with each other. On the other side of the pressbox you have the p.a announcer the clock operators and the music person all on the other side. The section with the most room is the middle which is the VIP that the Hburg school staff Hburg city leaders and others dignitaries sit.

I looked up what you were talking about. Saw that they said logistics had changed - not sure what about that comment you read as “we want to sit outside and do our broadcast from the visitor’s bleachers.” But okay - whatever. Doesn’t affect me at all. Simply found it odd. Add to that: home fans sitting in the visitor student section and getting a cop to force a bunch of teenagers  to sit down at a football game the entire time & that just makes for a really weird experience for attendees. Never heard of such.
