What does 1 year disciplinary probation entail?

That if the team who is on probation now does something that requires disciplinary action down the line this season it could result in being ineligible for the playoffs or possibly wont be able to have a spring training. Pretty much means teams that are now on probation better not do something dumb during the regular season like have a small scuffle in the handshake line after the game.  Or have players leave the bench if a small scuffle breaks out during the game. In other words they are on thin ice right now and the season hasnt even started.

Taylorsville had a full scrimmage with full pads Friday night.  They posted it on facebook for all of the MHSAA to see.

Per Ricky Neaves all they have to do is self-report themselves and all is forgiven The mighty MHSAA enforcement and punishment continues

You may want to go to Mhsaa website and read the rules.

Week 1 was Aug4-8. Helmets shorts only. Week 2 Aug 11-15 pads were good to go. Teams scrimmaged in pads last week. Nothing illegal. If it was breaking rules I dont think anyone would be posting video of it

True. But you know players now where them shorts with the thigh pads in practice. So thats not considered full gear. Teams and coaches are gonna find a loophole. LOL

It is considered full gear as the rule says shoulder pads and helmets only. That's why those schools have already been put on probation and others will be as well.

Here is the full rule from the MHSAA Handbook for 2025-2026 year regarding practice.

"The football season shall extend from Monday, August 4, 2025, for classes 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A, 6A and 7A through the first full weekend in December. A scrimmage may be played August 22, 2025, for all classes. The regular season playing date will be August 28, 2025, for all classes. (With the beginning of fall football practice, players shall not wear football pads of any kind, football togs or football jerseys. Week 1 (Monday through Friday) helmets, face guards, mouthpieces and shoes are legal for the first week of practice (5 days). Week 2 Monday through Friday, shoulder pads can be worn – shorts/shoulder pads and helmets. After the completion of weeks 1 and 2, players can begin to practice in full gear.)

"Team-building" stupidity. I've seen it and had to participate as an AC. SMH

What is wrong with it? Some teams make it a annual things and teams take pride in it. "Team-building stupidity?" Whats your point there?? Not every school has the same culture. Some take pride in things like that. Explain how using it as team building is stupid?
