Class 7a South Predictions

We'll see how it plays out but I think their defense will be strong this year and offense should be improved with Walley and company a year older. I know it was just a spring game but I'm sure Meridian will attest to that. I'm not sure how the small schools got into their rotation. No offense but Meridian is gonna be pretty bad this year from what I’ve heard.

Yeah, unfortunately I would agree from what I saw but 35-0  in two quarters by varsity at least gives us a little hope.

Bay Springs pulled out of the series with Raleigh. Raleigh scheduled Ocean Springs. They had an option to schedule Heidelberg. Chose to stay eith Ocean Springs and Ocean Springs chose to pull out and play a much weaker opponent in Meridian.  Then they scheduled D'Iberville.

My apologies. After three rough seasons we are definitely in our feelings down here for sure but hopefully things will turn around this season.

Good points. HC has to finish above .500 this year AND compete for #2 according to the fanbase as I hear it.

Need to bump this.  Who challenges West Harrison?  Is it only Ocean Springs and Gulfport?  They really do have a manageable schedule and they get a bye the last week of the regular season.

I think D'Iberville can give West Harrison a challenge physically. SHould be high scoring event

d'Iberville seems legit defensively. Missing their best defensive player still as well. Adding him back soon probably makes them stronger. Their offense has finally opened things up some. Going from true wing-t to more shotgun spread sets and utilizing Walley has helped them a lot. I am actually surprised at how well they and West Harrison have looked. Gulfport has lost two tough ones to two good teams in Picayune and Petal. They did struggle vs. Laurel, but that was played between the bricks and if you know, you know. St. Martin is fools gold to me until they prove otherwise. They have played nobody with a pulse yet outside of Stone who is beat up and missing several pieces. West Harrison does have a nice win over Poplarville and have looked strong against everyone else. OS is still navigating and finding our rhythm offensively but I think they are getting there. d'Iberville appears to be the real deal so far. Biloxi appears to be better from what I have seen and heard. You are going to have 5 teams scrapping it out for 4 spots. It should be a fun region run for everyone.

When the playoffs come the coast will still go 1-3 with the only winner being Ocean Springs

When was the last time anyone in R4 except Ocean Springs even made it to a South State playoff game

I think you're reading into something that isn't there.  I never said West Harrison was the best team in 7A South.  I know who the best team is, but my question is when do they get challenged?  I already had some folks chime in with an answer to that.

So far it's Ocean Springs, but if Oak Grove keeps improving it can get interesting.  That Ocean Springs OL is a thing of beauty.

Home field advantage is huge in that game. And it’s at OG this year, so your prediction is probably a good one.

OG normally beats Brandon when it really counts the day after Thanksgiving. Idk how it will work out this year. I Just hope this OG group that is now at full strength keeps improving.

They will Dub.  Those weren't some slouch teams that OG played to begin the year with either.  OG will be just fine and you play those games to get better anyway.

I’m still annoyed about the Germantown game because of how flat out unprepared they looked and how embarrassing it was. We’ve had a few stinkers like that the last couple of years.
