  • NoWammies changed the title to NoWammies Week Three Top Ten

I’d like to know everyone’s thoughts of me having Pearl at #10. Are they deserving of the spot or did I put too much into their OT win over Warren Central? I know Brandon has started the year off with 2 touch matchups and might be a top ten team and better than some I have on the list but I’m the type not to have an 0-2 team in my top ten. That’s not to say they won’t work themselves back in as the season goes on. Ocean Springs could possibly be better than Pearl but faced a good Madison Central team right off the bat. They’re another that could work themselves in.

If you want to sip the 7A Kool-Aid, then it certainly is justifiable.  You know how tough 4A ball is and Columbia ain’t no slouch.  They play some old school, tough, blue collar football over there.  Maybe they’ll crack in to your top 10 next week.

Let’s go ahead and address the elephant in the room.  I realize it ain’t popular and I’m going against the grain here, but frankly I really don’t care.  I’m fine with the loss and you’ve got to tip your cap to Catholic because that’s a fine football team.  My question is this though and I know it’s like pissing in the wind.  What’s it going to take to hold the MHSAA’s feet to the fire and address and confess to a wrong?  An official apology from the crooked and corrupt MHSAA should be the very least of expectations, but we all know that’s not going to happen.  That’s the way that cookie crumbles unfortunately.  I just think Picayune’s players deserve to hear that an officiating mistake cost them the ballgame from the MHSAA and also what corrective steps they will take to avoid that situation in the future.  It’s the right thing to do, period.

I don't think MHSAA has the capability to have video replay and replay officials at every game. It was pretty clear he didn't make it in pictures/video but that's HS football. The official made the call as best he could in that split second.

That’s mostly well said, especially from a fan base who has to be feeling kind of screwed over. I’m not going to say that you don’t deserve to feel that way, and I’m sure that you’ve already heard how the team shoulda played better, shouldn’t depend on the refs, and shouldn’t be whining. Those things don’t help, and mostly come from towns who have been having their butts handed to em the last three years, if not decades. I will say that most every fan base has had a situation like this in the past. Some can recall that “big game screwjob” no matter how many state titles soothe their minds. But, believe this: raising a trophy in late November will be the best revenge, and you’ve got the team to do it. Everything else fades away. Good luck with that.

This happens to multiple teams every year. nobody is gonna apologize for anything. we should look at it as an opportunity for growth and move on to another title.

I think the official got confused and just threw his hands up lol. Everyone knows Catholic got call in there favor on the 2 point conversion but the game should of never been that close anyway, we had way too many penalties and self inflicted wounds in the first half, catholic couldn't stop us we stopped ourselves. We have moved on from this loss next stop D'Iberville RTR
