Have not heard that, but it's no surprise with all the other trouble they've caused with recruitment. Nothing will happen though because the high school activities is all about the good ole boy system.

What's the time frame you can start spring ball? Some schools are having spring games this week, while others just started as late as yesterday

The actual date you have spring practice is your own choice. Years ago, it used to be in February/early March so as not to interfere with baseball. Baseball started around March 15th then when the weather was more moderate. Baseball also extended past when school ended as well. Nowadays they finish baseball before Memorial Day.

But I don’t see a team getting into trouble over when their spring training occurs as long as the actual practices conform with the policies of the State Association.

Hear ye, hear ye! I believe it’s 20 days to get in 15 practices, I may be wrong, but I believe you must submit to the mhsaa on when you start your practice as well as play your game, if you play one. So the question would be when do they start their spring?

According to the MHSAA online handbook, you are correct sir. But doesn't really matter because the toothless MHSAA rarely enforces ANYTHING if you have connections

Still a lot of ado about nothing in my opinion, except that there are rules in place. Supposedly, the head coach and some assistants were on the field after school hours coaching up a number of players. Technically, that should have been counted as a spring practice day against the allowed number. Seems like every rival school is watching the Admirals with binoculars these days after their earlier controversy. By the way, there have been other developments in that incident, including the barring of additional players transferring in. Just another day in the Port City.

So the district has put a ban on athletes transferring in?

I’m not sure exactly what this means, except that there are rules in place specifically for coaches who move to new schools. Obviously, any players from the old school are prohibited, but just why Harrison Central players would be banned is not clear, although that’s the scuttle. I’ve probably stirred the pot enough. Howz about some of the Admiral fans give us their view?
