I am fine with Illinois. I just hope most of our players will play. If we are full strength or at least close to full strength I would like our chances to win.
Obviously, we will be without Rara and possibly Forbes but if the rest of the players play, I think we will be in good shape.

Illinois has one of the best defenses in the country and a not great offense so this may be a rock fight. OM-Texas Tech is probably going to be the opposite, total track meet incoming. I don’t think either game is a gimme at all.

I agree, should be two good/close games to watch.

They got the four playoff teams right. And don’t be shocked if both of those games are close. If I was Georgia I would not be happy about getting Ohio State first, on their best day they might have the best chance of anyone of beating UGA. I think TCU can hang with Michigan, too.

Tennessee-Clemson is a literal Orange Bowl. Lol.

Kansas State-Bama could be very interesting, especially if Bama isn’t really into it. You know K-State will be fired up.

Tulane playing USC in a NY6 game is cool. Penn State-Utah Rose Bowl doesn’t do much for me.

There are a few interesting SEC bowls but not a ton. SC-Notre Dame is a neat matchup. Arkansas-Kansas could be a fun game. Same for Oregon State-Florida.

Could have the feel of that State/Iowa bowl game a few years ago.

No doubt, Moorhead may have won two Egg Bowls but we laid eggs big time in both bowl games.

One of the main reasons I am glad Leach finally won an Egg Bowl is so that the whole “even Joe Moorhead beat Ole Miss twice” thing can die a death. You literally had State fans saying Moorhead was better than Leach last year because he went 2-0 against Matt Luke and Leach couldn’t beat a 10 win Ole Miss.

Dang,

Are we losing Thomas, Harvey and Griffin?

That is a lot of production right there.

Offense WR’s will have some big holes to fill.

Still think none of this should happen until after the Bowl Season is over. Quitting your team is just something I can never digest. I guess it was the way I was reared. I was taught you stuck with your team until the end.

One year my little league baseball team went 0-17. No one quit the team. Very disappointing summer to say the least but none of us quit.

Might just need to run the ball every play against Illinois…..LOL

I’ll be honest, I’m probably not ever gonna be that worried about WR as long as Leach as here. They just spread it around to so many dang guys. Don’t get me wrong, some guys are better than others and RaRa was one of the best WR’s on the team. I just think State will generally be able to find capable guys at WR every single year.

Now RB is another story. Marks and DJ are probably two of the more talented RB’s that Leach has ever had. They were both Moorhead signees and Leach hasn’t brought in anybody else on that level since he’s arrived. I like Simeon Price and think he can be a good player. And maybe you can find a decent pass catching RB in the portal most years. But I’ve said before that Marks and DJ were State’s best offensive players this year, and either one would be a big loss for next season. Losing both would be really bad.

I don’t know what was or wasn’t said to Dillon but it never does either side well to air the dirty laundry. Even if those things were said to him, he probably would’ve been better off just leaving it at “thank you”.

That said, good player and State is a worse team without him. Definitely tells me State will be looking for a RB from the portal now.
