I’m glad we won, but man it didn’t have to be that ugly.  It looked like Will wanted the team he grew up a fan of to win the ball game.

Looked to me like he was trying to make up for a bad game when he kept it on the goal line.  He wanted to put it away himself.   Give it to your RBs.  They’re used to that contact.

Well that’s what he should have done.  Dillon would have got in there with his daddy strength.  I don’t understand why Will would want to compound the problem and make his night worse, but that’s what he did.  I’ve never been critical of Will Rogers before, but after tonight I could care less if he suits up for State again.  I just don’t see him as draft worthy material.  He’s like the football version of Gene Taylor where nobody wants him.

Interesting that folks are throwing barbs at Will Rogers. Yes he made several bad decisions last night. But the TD pass to Walley was a tremendous play when he did buy some time and was on the money with the throw.
Not an elite QB but he is certainly better than average. He reminds me of Kevin Fant who was a good QB but had a terrible OL in front of him.

In a few of State’s losses I put it more on WR drops and bad OL protection rather than Rogers play, but he had a bad game last night.  He held the ball too long and took some horrible sacks.   That 4th down play were he ran out of bounds 3/4 yards short.  He wasn’t going to get it, but I think people wanted him to give it a try.   However, he also made some plays on the TD drive before the half that were huge.  Not all QBs can run Leach’s offense.  Overall I think Rogers does a good job of that.
