He's a good coach. There have been a good many guys who have "retired" in one spot & been successful other places. A few that come to mind: Ricky Woods, Lance Pogue, Marcus Boyles, Todd Mangum, Jamie Mitchell, Ricky Black, Jimmie Moore, Todd Breland, Buddy Singleton, and Larry Dolan, just to name a few. I personally think he will do a good job, but I do know the GC community is not too keen on "outsiders". He will need to win early to gain the support of that community.

This will be T'ville's 7th head coach since 2015. I think Agee would be a good choice that would most likely be committed to stay there for a while. But high expectations and low pay are not two things that go well together. Plus the school district has spent a ton of money on an on campus baseball & softball complex, but the field house is the same one that was built in 1975.

George County is now officially open. Ray was approved last night to move into the Director of Athletics & Operations job at the district level

Shannon White is one of the best to ever do it. He had great runs at Taylorsville & North Forrest. Had some decent years & some tough years at one of the toughest football jobs in the state in Sumrall. Best of luck to whoever takes that job moving to 5A!!

I would be worried about jealousy on my own team. That ole right guard, that isn't going to play anywhere & is just playing because he loves it, may decide that if the QB doesn't give him a little compensation he might not get his best effort blocking on game night. Great for the kid getting the money, but for the coach trying to manage all of it............................
