Like others have tried to tell you multiple times, you can’t figure out football just from looking at box scores. Our QB did not throw a pick 6 against Raleigh. Our wingback threw a pick 6 on a trick play. Our QB has thrown maybe 3 picks all season.

Personally, I think it depends on which Mize team shows up. Honestly, I think we have only played good in 2 games this season, Mount Olive and Raleigh. Other games we have played good for a half, but not for a full game. If we don’t clean up the turnovers and the penalties, it’s going to be extremely hard to beat collins. If we play clean ball, I like our chances.

No, you haven’t improved. You played two bad teams. Teams that were even worse than enterprise. I know you don’t understand how football actually works, but winning two games against two teams that are even more horrible than you are doesn’t mean you improved. One reason you always make yourself look so foolish is because you base all your conclusions by looking at final scores. You never actually try to figure out what football is actually like. You just look scores and think you got the whole picture figured out. Mize’s struggles with Newton had nothing to do with Newton. It has to do with Mize. We are turning the ball over way too much and committing too many penalties. That kills drives and leaves our defense on the field too much putting them in bad situations. We had over 500 yards of total offense against Newton. We physically manhandled Newton, even more so than we did enterprise. We lost two fumbles while trying to stretch the ball out over the goaline. At no point in that game did anybody from Mize or Newton think the outcome of the game was going to be any differently than it was.

Bay springs has secured the top spot in that region unless clarkdale somehow is able to beat both bay springs and Scott central. I do not see that happening. Raleigh will not have much trouble at all with Puckett. Mize, Collins, and Heidelberg could all finish anywhere from 1-3 in the region. Mize is probably the best overall team, IMO, but we cannot keep making the mistakes we have been making the last couple weeks. Got to clean up the penalties and turnovers. We also play both collins and Heidelberg on the road. This is the biggest game of the year for us this week. Collins struggles with consistency, but they have some athletes and playmakers.

Two bad teams. Mclaurin is just a lot worse.

Richton is bad but Heidelberg is pretty good. Heidelberg/Mize/Colllins all the have the potential to be really good. They aren’t good enough though to make a lot of mistakes. Those will be the top 3 teams in region 8, and can finish in any order. Since the game with Raleigh, a game which we should have won, we have played very sloppily the last 2 weeks. Hopefully we get those kinks worked out now that district play is here

Every junior high I have ever been to has had the coaches on the field. Also the games are 8 minute quarters, it’s almost always a running clock, and the games are over in an hour or less

There is not a single game that you have lost that you would have won with Sims. You have lost every game by 3 touchdowns.

Enterprise is not a good team with or without Sims. Are they better with Sims? Of course. But not better enough to really move the needle one direction or another. Enterprise’s issues are due to replacing basically their entire OL from last season. They had a 4 year run of some talented players. That’s over now. Regardless of any of that, I would be surprised if he comes back at all this season. And I don’t think he needs to be focusing on that anyway right now.

I will be honest, I think it was a good call. Their defense just stayed at home and didn’t bite. I really thought that play would have been open at that point in the game. Kudos to their defense for being disciplined.

So you think Wesson is better than both Mize and Raleigh… and you think we score less points against them Loyd Star or Bogue Chitto. Lol. Ok

For those keeping track with this game, it was a defensive game all night. Raleigh led 6-0 at the half, scoring on a drive in the 2nd quarter where we had gotten a 4th down stop but a roughing the passer call extended the drive. Mize took the lead early in the 4th quarter and led 7-6 with 6 minutes to go in the game. We were backed up on our own side of the field and rolled the dice on a trick play and unfortunately it ended up in a pick 6 for the Raleigh defense. Their last score was also set up by what was almost another pick 6 near the end of the game that was returned to the 1 yard line. The 18-7 score was nowhere near indicative of actual game. It was a nail biter. If we don’t throw the pick 6 midway through the 4th, Mize very likely wins 7-6. Neither offense was moving the ball. I figure both teams will have similar total yards for the game. Good defensive battle. Raleigh has a very good defensive line.

The best team they have played so far is Loyd Star. Not saying they won’t have any offensive success at all, but they won’t score their average this next week.
