Everybody keeps mentioning Carter. I’m not so sure Carter wants to leave Heidelberg for Hattiesburg. I could see him wanting to make a name for himself at a bigger program, but I don’t know if the money is right. Heidelberg pays big money

Tville won’t struggle much in 1A play. They still have some good players returning, but depth will be even worse next season than it was this season. They should compete for the district.
-
As far as the south is concerned, I have no clue. Taylorsville will have one more good season, but won’t be quite as good as they were this season. I bet you that you will not see them play the same kind of schedule that they played the last 2 years. Stringer will be improved, and could be a dark horse.

Don’t know if Hattiesburg pays what Heidelberg does.

Did kamario taylor not play in this game

We believe you when you say that you believe that.

Raleigh plays Mize week 4

I don’t see Mancuso fitting in at Sumrall. I think Mancuso retires and then goes to coach at a private school somewhere. Or maybe he just retires from coaching period.
-
Yes and won a state championship in his first season in 1998.

Raleigh returns most of their entire team. They lose their best back. I’m curious if Hig stays around if he gets a bigger offer. If JDC comes open, I wonder if that’s a job he would pursue. Personally, I wouldn’t leave Raleigh for JDC but from what I have been told Mancuso is one of the highest paid coaches in the state

Seminary is my 3A south front runner next season. They return a good group. JDC and Magee both lose a big senior class. Magee had 20 seniors. Raleigh will not be that stout offensively but their defense should be absolutely loaded. Heidelberg will be the 2A favorite again. They only have to replace linebacker and a couple defensive linemen, and a couple offensive linemen. Loyd Star is not very deep but their best players were sophomores and return almost their whole squad. Mize was a young team this season, and returns a good amount of players, especially on defense. Bay Springs and Scott Central both lose a good amount of starters but they will both be fine. In 1A, Taylorsville will be good for one more season, but they will have virtually no depth again. Stringer will be improved. I don’t know what Simmons and Baldwyn return

How many rushes/pass attempts did Grenada have this season? I’m assuming they were a heavy rushing team -

I only remember him coming from Shannon. I think NEJones offered him the job last year and he turned it down. Or at least that’s what I had been told. But again, I don’t know if NE Jones pays what Heidelberg does. I don’t think they do, and nobody is gonna take a pay cut for a new job unless they are just miserable where they are at. I actually could see him being a good fit at somewhere like Wayne County, or Laurel, or Quitman. -

The only thing I think Heidelberg has to watch out for now would be if their coach leaves for a bigger job. He has got himself a championship now, so he could look for something bigger now that he has that. One good thing Heidelberg has in their favor is that not a lot of schools can pay a head coach what they pay. Carter is making big money at Heidelberg, and you know he won’t leave and take a pay cut, even if it is at a bigger school -

Yes their best players are 10th graders. They lose a couple of offensive and defensive linemen, and a linebacker. They return probably 8 or 9 on both sides of the ball. -
2024 MHSAA State Championships Scores and Updates

Well that was our first blowout of the championship games. Charleston defense played hard for a half, but Heidelberg ran off with it late. Charleston had one long touchdown pass, but if you take away that one play they may not have had 100 yards total offense. Heidelberg had close to 400 yards. -

There’s only 7 games left to play, and we still cannot put a crew on the field in a dang championship game that even knows the rules. The MHSAA is so incompetent -
Well… baldwyn got screwed on a call early. The referees for some reason called a hold, but said the hold occurred after the player had gotten enough yardage for a first down so it’s still a first down. It’s supposed to be 10 yards from the spot of the foul, would woukd have made it still 3rd down. This is the state championship games, and we cannot get officials that even understand the rules.
