Smith County students have left for Sylva Bay, Simpson, and East Rankin since Katrina. Problems at Magee and Mt Olive have resulted in the movement into Mize School Zone over last 12 years or so. The owners of GP no longer bring in athletes and give parents jobs. I am not sure that the coaches are interested in such recruitment. In 2010 the largest population in the county had shifted along and west of hwy 35. In 2020 the population has shifted to the SW (Mize) part of the county more specifically in the triangle between 35, 28, and 37 hwys. Majority of those kids attend Raleigh and Mize.

Enterprise want be in 3rd Round. They will finish 3rd in Region 5. Travel to Magee in Round 1. Season over!

West Marion, North Forrest and Hazlehurst will not be ranked

2 years worth of Covid Era students on campus is probably why the 2 year wavier.

NCAA board acting quickly to change the rules. Boosters setting up groups or organizations to offer money will be investigated immediately. 2 year waiver the 25 recruit rule. Too many covid classes still hanging on.

It has to pass 2 times. It passed in February and April (unamousily). The October 2021 numbers were in the AD meeting. The proposal to go with 9-11 numbers passed as well.

Someone should be complaining about driving from Cleveland(McEvans) to Bay Springs for a basketball game. No way they should be in the south. Yes they may have to drive to Biggersville or Hamilton but that's north Ms for sure.

6A 24 5A 24 4A 32 3A 32 2A 57 55 football 1A 58 45 football

5 openings at Magee, Band Director, 4 coaches: basketball, volleyball, etc Apparently teachers are leaving the district. Lots of absenteeism in the classroom.

It be between Raleigh, JDC, or Tylertown. Enterprise is in that 2nd tier of teams like Magee and Morton. Enterprise is like Raleigh with 2A numbers playing 3A Ball. And yes if you take the 8-10 numbers you are 2A come 2023.

Morton boys said they rolling threw Region 5. If it happens Enterprise will make that dreaded trip to Magee or Raleigh first probably as a 3 seed.

Enterprise may not repeat as Region Champs

Tishomingo has 333 without the 8th grades. Iuka Middle 99 Burnsville 8th 65 Tish should be 4A with just 29 of those 164.

Tishomingo was 432 however Burnsville Elementary K-8 would add an extra 65 to either Tishomingo or Belmont. Mooreville is 348 3A.

24-25 school year is what has been posted. I think they have to tell MHSAA as to when they are going to start or: Play 1 year independent, Play either Mendenhall or Magee schedule, Start combined sports in 2023.

Crying because of travel to Warren Central vs travel to Harrison Central. Not much diffence

They have a 20 mile radius around the school to recruit players. That is the reason the others left. There is a big catholic population in Arkansas across the river from Greenville. They would not be allowed to recruit across state lines thus loosing part of their students. I think they should have been allowed to either include those in Arkansas and Louisiana within the 20 mile radius or extend it eastward.

Do you send Warren Central or Ridgeland South

Wingfield was the top 4A school under the 9-12, 2021 numbers under 7A plan. They must have a better 8th grade class.

24-25

9-12 grade numbers 2021 October had Pearl as #24 7A, the others were top 10 6A.

9 of those schools are in NE Mississippi. It will be 3 regions of 6 or 7 with 3 non football regions in each region.

You don't find them except by googling the school name. You may find it on the school website. Whether it's up to date who knows.

They still have to fill out a form every 2 years as to what sports they are playing. If they are 2A they will be in Region 8 always. That will leave 4 football schools and all 4 make the playoffs in 2A south.

Petal extended its city limits whether the school zone extended I don't know. I think St Patrick may drop to 2A. That makes the region 8 be St Patrick, North Forrest, Collins, Mize. Who do you take Bay Springs or Raleigh? Or Both.
