They’ll definitely win their district and win most of their games except maybe this week against Pisgah and Loyd Star. Those are toss ups for me. By looking at bracket they will run into Region 5 #2 2nd round which will be Nanih Waiya, Noxapater, Sebastopol, or Leake County (probably Noxapater or Sebastopol IMO). That will be tough for them even though they will host.

I'm curious to what Calpreps says about this game. Does anybody have the subscription?

It was 55-6 EW last year. Not really sure what EW has coming back. Nanih Waiya returned almost everyone plus picked up a kid from Louisville who had 180 yards rushing and 3 TD’s last week. I heard their good back from last year tore his ACL in the first few days of fall practice. I think this game will show whether they’re legit or Vardaman is just not as great as people thought. I think NW is improved this year and will make this game much more competitive than 55-6. If they can win it I think they may be in the running for 1A south favorite.

I agree with this. As said in the consolidation thread they strongly need to reconsider merging into Collins. Their numbers are declining every year along with their facilities and fan support. It’s gonna be hard to have success there in the near future at least.

I am also curious about Stringer vs Clarkdale. I think Clarkdale will be very similar to Enterprise, but will Stringer be able to carry over the big 2nd half they had against Enterprise to this game? Luckily it’s at Stringer, so that should help.

EW and Nanih Waiya is very intriguing to me especially after Nanih Waiya’s big win over Vardaman.

Yeah… Dog fight probably was a bad way of describing that matchup.

Newton has not won a game since October 21, 2022. 23 game losing streak currently. On the other hand, Mount Olive has not won a game since 2023 and is on a 12 game losing streak. 32-8 MO is a little too far fetched IMO. I think it’s gonna be a dog fight, but Mount Olive is probably the favorite because they did manage to keep it close with Magee last week.

They beat Lamar by 6 and lost to Simpson by 2.

If PCS is the favorite, give me the underdog in this one. I think Mize will find a way to win late game in a close one. It could go either way though.

Enterprise should beat SEL by 4-5 TD’s. Key word should. Enterprise is an average to below-average 2A team, but SEL is one of the worst teams not only in 3A but the state. I don’t think they’re that bad.

I heard that he did first drive. #16 played the rest of the game at QB for them.

Dropped kickoff that Stringer recovered was a huge turning point as well.

I think Clarkdale may be better. They handled Resurrection pretty easily last night, but Resurrection is not a very good team. Them and Stringer play next week, so that’ll be a good look. Clarkdale does have a first year head coach, and I heard they have one of the biggest teams in school history numbers wise. Nevertheless it will still be Enterprise and Clarkdale for 4th in that district.

Better get ready for Southeast Lauderdale next week. Y’all may underestimate them too.
