  1. I have to believe this is just a heavy dose of wishful thinking on your part. P.S. - I hope you are very wrong. However, this will certainly be Liberty's "Super Bowl" as they say and we certainly have more, way more in fact, than our fair share of injuries, so I'm way more worried than I thought I would be a few weeks ago. Such is the life of an OM fan.
  2. Took in a bit of this game Friday night at MRA of all places. I believe the final was 49-8 IMG. East St. Louis had some studs and a hell of a crowd vis buses 7 hours away but IMG had the best collection of high school talent on one team I’ve ever seen and it ain’t even close. And I’ve seen many. Their business model sucks though. How is there any real school or community pride? To me that’s what high school football is really about and when you are a boarding school football factory with kids from all over the country it’s just a weird deal. I realize they are super elite but I’d take community football over that deal any day of the week.
  3. Score was closer than the game really was. I enjoy being able to say that.
  4. Shrader is a gamer and he is tough. You could see that from the start. But he sure throws a weak, rainbow pass that is not on par with top tier DI QBs. At least he didn't against Clemson.
  5. I just hope he doesn't continue to come crawling back with a bunch of apologies. Just take your millions and enjoy life. Apologizing ad nauseum is a tremendously bad look (see ol Drew Breeze) and something he said 10 years ago is ancient history anyway.
  6. OM fan here from way back, but Kiffin’s pregame interview with CBS was downright embarrassing made even worse when you get your ass thumped.
  7. I am not worried about Corral. He ain't gonna be perfect all year but I have no reason to believe he won't be at least good even against Alabama on their turf. What I'm worried about is can our defense stop them? They can't run up and down the field all day and us have a chance to win. We have a great offense but I don't think we will just torch them every time we have the ball. They are just too good for anybody to be expected to do that.
  8. That's definitely a fine all-star team. Ain't no doubt about it.
  9. So one game into this season, and WB has already moved on to next year. Man, that's interesting and brutal.
  10. MRA has probably played the toughest two games they will play all season in the first three weeks.
  11. I wouldn't say that there are NO good women leaders out there, but I will agree that for the most part men are better leaders and certainly in a school setting a really good male leader is more desirable. Ain't no doubt about it. I will also say that there are plenty of poor male leaders as well, who well, just aren't leaders.
  12. Greenville Christian should certainly vault into this one.
  13. Well 7 or 8 wins for State would be good any year, right? Same for OM.
  14. She over with and I for one am shocked.
  15. I have first hand knowledge of both those 85 and 86 Rosedale teams, and you might as well take them out of the conversation as one of the best 3A teams and just put the 1985 team in the conversation about one of the best teams ever period... regardless of classification. The 1985 bunch would flat run you off the field. Their big thing was to say they didn't have a kid over 199 on the team. If that was the case, they had about 20 guys at 199 and they could all run like the wind. They were trouble. Plain and simple.
  16. This is the biggest problem for OM. We do not swing it well throughout the lineup. Not at all. Dang near automatic outs can be found and that is an absolute killer.
  17. Outscored their opponents either 55-5 or 50-5. I can't remember which.
  18. Granted anything can happen, and I know what the RPI folks argue, but there are three ranked teams in the Oxford Regional and just one (State of course) in the Starkville regional. Moreover, here are some interesting numbers from the three visitors in each of those regions: against Power 5 competition the three visitors in Oxford are a combined 24-23 while the three visitors in Starkville are a combined 3-12. But I suppose State earned this. No argument there.
  19. Tough field in Oxford. Weak field in Starkville.
