Well, I was wrong. Alabama didn’t stomp a mud hole in our ass. It was just a distant cousin of it. Couch it however you want, but we ain’t no good. But hey, we are at least paying our head coach a small friggin fortune.

“Good as they claim”? Most OM folks I run with don’t think we are very good. And that definitely showed last week. Expectations are pretty darn low and certainly not $9 million worth if you catch my drift. And State, ugh, that was rough.

It's a show one way or another.

Was Lee hurt last season? He had 94 yards on 25 carries all season.

This is about the time I'd normally throw in a Delta State comment since they were the preseason choice to win the GSC. But as things currently stand, they probably need to win 2 out of 3 against their rival MC this weekend just to make the conference tournament which they'd most certainly have to win just to make the NCAAs. What happened with DSU this year, I have no idea.

Really more like three errors by us last night. One at third, and two at first in the same inning, ground ball right through his legs and then the foul ball pop fly dropped outside the bag. Not sure why they didn't call it three. But nonetheless, I'll take that overall performance every single time.

Ruffin had become a shell of his former self in almost every phase of his game for what I can only guess are a variety of reasons. IMO he's not as good now as a sophomore in college as he was his senior year in high school. He's got to get back on track, get his explosiveness back, etc. especially at 5-9. Hopefully he does all that and hopefully the next coach is able to help with that and keep everybody else worth keeping.

Which was quite the win for the Lady Rebs when they were down 19 at half.

And we are solidly on a path to post a historically bad SEC record. Not to mention an overall one. And where was Ruffin again today. Good lord!

Here's the cold hard truth... neither one of these teams is worth a * moderator edit - profanity is not allowed * in the grand scheme of things. At least State, with a first-year coach, has an excuse. When State comes to OM later, OM will probably squeak out a win and it just might be the only one OM gets in the SEC all season. Why these two schools can't get consistent basketball teams is beyond me, but it would appear we cannot. Pretty much any other SEC team besides OM wins that game today the way State shot from the field and shot free throws. Pretty incredible really. Sorry to be a wet blanket.

Haha, no, if it's that type game it will be great to watch. Sort of like when you can't take your eyes off stupid people accidents or the like on Facebook or somewhere.

I'd never try to pin that loss last night on the officiating, but yes there were some horribly missed calls for certain. Maybe it swings things, but maybe it doesn't. It went all the way down to the last two-point conversion. Wade was held big time on the play and could not get to the ball or complete his route. Had that been completed we are down 8 with over three minutes to play and probably never attempt that onsides kick that was returned for a TD. All that aside, though, we were so non-traditional in our fourth down play calling it was downright comical. I can only assume it was done because the game meant little in the grand scheme of things. Almost like Kiffin was thinking, "What the hell? Let's see how this goes." The whole bowl approach needs to be revamped. There are simply too many. Maybe we can sneak into the playoffs when it gets to 12 teams. At any rate, Dart will be just fine. Our O-line is the bigger issue. Got to be so much better it's not even funny. Kiffin needs to earn that money and quit flirting with others while he's here if indeed he was and if he's not, he needs to shut it down publicly if falsely accused. The team and the program deserve better.

Shoot, we'll be 0-1 in league play by the time night gets here. We play at 4.

Ole Miss is up to 12 now, but still quite a bit fewer than most everybody else. By design, except for three decommits, I'd think very much so.

No way to know if or how long this hiring will work out, and that's something you can probably say about every coaching hire ever made. It's also about all they could do given the timing.

I think it's the 12 they are kicking around. Absolutely no reason not to expand, though. It's about the only way our teams are going to get in, it would add a tremendous amount of excited to the season, etc. I wish it was next year. Why wait two? Get on with it already. Every single other division of college football does it. Hurry up already.

Well, unless they are granted a release of some kind, those who transferred there from the portal already, will have to sit year if they transfer again. That might just persuade some of them to stick around.

You'd have to think it's certainly a distraction. People on the outside can say this or that, but gotta be a distraction and at the very least a little deflating for some, both players and fans alike.
