  1. Okay this must be more recent then as this is for this week
  2. Only 1 player from Meridian on ejection list. None from Laurel that I was told
  3. My problem with the enrollment process is I'd like to know the verification process used by the state. I would think the state Dept. of Education should have access to the MSIS data used by schools and could pull enrollment on their own with a few clicks of a button or two. I don't feel they should be relying on school districts to turn in "real" numbers as we all have seen examples that would manipulate that process. Does anyone know the process of verification?
  4. Would love to know who is cheating like this. Not that many schools with that kind of money
  5. No not a contender but improved on defense. Offense will be determining factor.
  6. Too early to add them to the list. They could still mess the porch and finish well below .500 and miss the playoffs again. Talent has been there, coaching has hurt them. New DC has brought new fire to the group. Very sound and aggressive.
  7. Not hat I'm aware of. They stopped that 15 years ago I think at least
  8. Who knows? Gov't never does anything timely. The MHSAA will not release until after the state championships usually .
  9. What's wrong with letting them participate as an independent in a sport or two knowing they will not be able to participate for a gold ball? Why tell them no team can participate for a gold ball if their one sport remains independent? That's my problem with their precious"bylaws". The MHSAA doesn't enforce the rest of their handbook laws with such force.
  10. Then you are doing it properly in accordance with guidelines. Any handshakes are expected to be filmed for liability purposes
  11. Yes . The MHSAA will BULLY them back in. The MHSAA will tell them if they play independent in one sport then ALL sports will have to play independent. Extortion in the modern day
  12. They'll be "threatened " with a fine from the MHSAA and given a good stern lecturing LMFAO
  13. EC and Van lost a lot of production from last year so I think Wayne should be ok unless things are as bad as described here.
  14. Hatty by 28.Biloxi not very good
  15. Picayune wins this by 14 IMO.
  16. Not the first time the MHSAA would be not up-to-date in my experience
  17. They definitely should be fine in those vs EC,Stone, and Van. They'll out-athlete all three I feel
  18. I found it. According to the list here is who did not submit: Tishomingo County Meridian Corinth West Point Fine should be imposed
  19. I don't see them winning any of the next three.
  20. Was it just PRC and Stanislaus in the Spring? What was the score?

    60% rule

Here's the actual rule that the director was attempting to explain: During the school’s sports seasons (schools sports seasons begin with the opening date of football practice and ends with the completion of state baseball championships) an independent team (i.e.: club team, recreational team, select team, elite team, all-star team) can be made up of no more than: 7 football players, 4 volleyball players, 3 basketball players, 7 soccer, 5 fast pitch softball players, 5 baseball players, or 4 players 7 on7 teams. That is directly out of his own MHSAA Handbook. To note: 1) If you do the math it's really not the "60%" rule. Football/Soccer 63.6%, Soccer and baseball 55.5% based on calculating it no more than x number of a starting number on field for that sport. It's not really worded properly in the handbook as it should say those values can't be from the same school team. It used to say "starters" but then independent coaches loop-holed their way around the "starting" phrase
  22. I respectfully disagree. It has worked out for hundreds of students. MRA has had many kids go on to next level just fine. Several Academies have also sent kids to the next level and helped those players advance their education. It's also not just in football that it has helped them.
  23. Saw some schools on the Coast really underperforming this year. Any changes expected?? D'Iberville simply putrid 5-20 St Martin barely better 11-16 Long Beach worse 2-25 Pascagoula 11-16 Not sure on 5A,4A and down..
