Williamson(AL) 6 Wayne County 0 end of 1. Wayne Co threw a int inside the 10, then got the ball back around the 12 on bad snap on the punt(that’s the current drive)

Jv won 24-0 Varsity won 14-0 offense was inconsistent(not surprising) defense looked decent.. we have a few athletes as always but I don’t really see much improvement from last year. Granted this was just a preseason game but I can safely say this team will not be make any noise in the playoffs. I’d love to be wrong but chances are I’m not.

I will say this. I have no clue what they will look like as a team but Williamson has a loaded talented team. They have 5 seniors with D1 offers. Everyone of them has an offer from at least one SEC team and they have a junior corner with offers from Fla St and Texas A&M. Things like that don’t guarantee wins but it’s not a horrible thing either lol. And Morton has a WR that will be one of the top recruits in the State next year. On paper the schedule may appear easier but that’s definitely not the case. This coaching staff has lost me so I don’t have any expectations for the year. But from what I saw in the spring there’s talent on the roster… but I still don’t see the coaching staff doing enough with the talent to get wins.. I hope I’m wrong.. I’m tired of seeing one of the greatest programs in the state brought to the ground bc of idiots

Win or lose it doesn’t mean much to me. I’m looking at some of the little things like how well we tackle, missed assignments, how well we block etc etc.
-
They lost 26 seniors from last year including their best player in QB Jared Hollins(who’s now at South Alabama). Should be a rebuilding year for them but that coaching staff is really good so I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they still compete for a playoff spot.

Wayne County will play Citronelle(5a from Alabama) on May 17th in Citronelle. Not sure of a start time, if they announced it I haven’t seen it.

If the parents at a couple of those jones county schools would stay out of the way… things might be different

And yes. I don’t have the proper words to express how I actually feel about it without being banned.. let’s just say.. everything slick has said isn’t false in any way

Williamson is traditionally an average team. They had a run there in the late 90’s to mid 2000’s where they were pretty good every year but that’s about it. They have years like last year where they go 3-7 or 4-6 for a few years and then they’ll bounce back and go 7-3 or 6-4 with a playoff appearance. They have been known the last few years to have a good defense. A lot of the top talent in the mobile area seems to always end up at a few select schools. I am in no way trying to insinuate anything I just find it funny lol. The head coach at Williamson’s son is a top recruit at one of those schools.

He’s 166-56 in his 18 year career as head coach. His teams have made the playoffs 16 of those 18 years. With 6 State championship appearances and 3 Titles. His teams have won at least one playoff game in 13 of those 16 years. He’s also won at least 7 games in 13 of those 18 years. This years team at Orange Beach was his worst team is his career, after making the playoffs in his first season there. As someone else has said, this is a homerun hire for Biloxi. If Gulfport can keep improving under BP and Ocean Springs can keep it going under JB then the coast region might actually win more than one playoff game every few years lol. In all seriousness I want the coast region to be good, bc it makes for some great playoff football. This is a step in the right direction for Biloxi.

Any change in the staff? Or is the entire staff coming back next year?
-
Well I should have looked prior to that post. But he is listed as the OC/Wrs coach.
-
To my knowledge he was just the WRs coach. Bramlett still called plays if I’m not mistaken

In order for Wayne County to win then we have to do something that we haven’t done but once all year and that’s play mistake free.. no dumb penalties.. and don’t turn the ball over.. this is not Wayne County from 15 years ago where we can have 4 fumbles, 12 penalties and still win by 40.. this team and this coaching staff need to bring their absolute best and I’m not optimistic about that. I usually call it like I see it and this team has beat itself a bunch this year.

North I don’t know much about any of the teams from the north but I will make picks regardless Cleveland Central at Clarksdale- Clarksdale 22-16 Lafayette at Canton- Lafayette 14-10 Corinth at Holmes County- Holmes County 35-7 Gentry at West Point-West Point 47-6 South I’m super familiar with all of these teams and if you asked me to pick a favorite I’d just tell you to draw names out of a hat. Wayne County at Florence-Florence 33-21 Natchez at Gautier-Gautier 41-21 Provine at Laurel-Laurel 34-18 Vancleave at Brookhaven-Brookhaven 28-20

The one and only time they’ve made it out of the first round was 2018. Which was Rogers first year there. They beat Lake Comorant in the first round and then got shut out by Olive Branch in the second round if I’m not mistaken

He went 4-6 in ‘95 and 2-9 in ‘96 and then went to Bay High and won 10 games in 3 years there. He went 30-10 in his 3 years at Calhoun City and then went 60-72 in his other 12 years as HC between WC, Bay and Coffeeville.

It was the Wayne County-George County game. Wayne County got the ball first and scored. After the TD a dead ball unsportsmanlike conduct penalty was called on George County. They were given the ball at the 25 and instead of it being first and goal. It was 1st and 10. They picked up a first down and scored on their 5th play from around the 14.
