I honestly believe Hankins is the right guy for the job. Last night wasn’t pretty in any capacity. A lot of that can be contributed to inexperience, a lot of it was just flat out not executing the play that was called, a lot of it was OG was just better. But I’ve seen the progress he’s made in his 3 years… I’ve seen the culture change from the previous regime.. I want the kids to be upset with a loss, I want them frustrated.. that is part of the process of building character.. losses like that happen.. it’s how you respond that will determine how you rise or fall from it.. Hankins cares about these kids… I see his vision.. and for what it’s worth he has my support lol

Football season is just right around the corner. It can not get here fast enough in my opinion. As we try to muddle through these last few weeks until the season actually starts, what game are you looking forward to the most? It doesn’t have to be a game your team plays, it can just be one in general. I pondered this for a little bit a few games stuck out in my head. Picayune vs Brandon is one them. Oak Grove vs Hoover(AL) is another. So what game or games are you looking forward to?

After 3 Quarters it was 12-10 Meridian. The JV played the 4th quarter. And when I left around 3 minute mark, The Wayne county jv was up 12-0. Meridian has a few pieces but I personally didn’t see enough to make me think they are a playoff team at this moment in time. Now there’s a long way to go between now and the season and there’s no chance I’d bet against MB so we will see how it turns out. As far as Wayne county goes, I wasn’t impressed but I also wasn’t disappointed. I think there’s some things to build on but I also think there’s a lot to improve on. I think the playoffs are in the picture but I didn’t see anything that would make me think that’s a state title contender even in a weak 5a. I’m still waiting on that next step in the process of the program being built back up and that might happen once the fall rolls around. Same team I saw last fall and that’s not necessarily a bad thing at this point in the process. Those are my takes from the game. And I’m not one to take too much stock from a spring game, so my assessment isn’t super in depth.

It’s not quite that simple lol. #1 Hattiesburg- that’s set in stone After that it gets murky if Wayne county beats west jones and Hattiesburg beats laurel then it forces a 3 way tie for 3rd and 4th and with the tie breakers. Laurel would finish 3rd and West 4th in that scenario and Florence would be out bc of point differential and a head to head loss to west.. Laurel lost Florence by 1.. Beat west by 7.. so their point differential is 6 West lost by 7 to laurel.. beat Florence badly but it only counts as 12 points.. so their point differential is at 5.. Florence lost badly to west so that’s 12.. and beat laurel by 1.. so their point differential is -11… Laurel gets 3rd.. West 4th
