  1. If you are a high school football fan this is an inside look at Wayne County Football during their glory days through the eyes of a former coach and player. This is part 1 of a two part interview part 2 is coming Saturday. Also an interview with Tracy Lampley coming next week I believe . Please like and subscribe more sit downs to come
  2. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgUv0tJPYP61Tg0v3OWGgPQ
  3. I like WJ but this is a tuff draw. If Duce Kight is not still storming the field in Oxford he and his teammates will be a hard task for WJ
  4. The last two times Wayne Academy played Bowling Green once earlier this season and they put WA out of the playoffs. Neither game was close BG lined up and ran the ball right at WA. Also turnovers played a big part. But I hope you’re predicting is right!!!!
  5. Who’s you Dark horses now that the Playoffs are here?
  6. I don’t he didn’t apply when it came open any other time. Sometimes home is the worst place to coach. You have a lot of outside pressure
  7. I agree it would be hard to determine a legit injury. But if it happened again like Laurel did it with over half the team going down on one play? If you’re throwing a flag for delay it should be bumped to unsportsmanlike IMO. If it’s obvious enough to throw a flag make it a big enough penalty to struggle to overcome
  8. I don’t think this should be a delay of game penalty. I believe it should be bumped up to unsportsmanlike
  9. Justin Cooley will not be back no time soon. His son is playing at NEJ he’s a freshman or maybe Sophomore. Justin will be there until he graduates and honestly he will probably retire right there that’s home to him.
  10. Absolutely he is I think he would make a good head coach. He’s now in administration so we will not find out. He was the last Defensive Coordinator to win a state title at Wayne County and the years with coach Mangum and Coach Bud Blackledge really did him good.
  11. Cooley was a damn good DC at Wayne County. The kids absolutely loved playing for him.
  12. Yes against Meridian in the Handshake line
  13. I was told he was helping coach as well I knew he was an administrator but I could have gotten back info. I haven’t talked to Justin in a couple of months. Either way if not coaching he gets to watch his son. That’s something he couldn’t do as an assistant at WC
  14. Northeast Jones that’s where his son goes to school. He didn’t want to leave WC but took the chance to coach his son, you can’t blame him at all.
  15. It looked like WA just thought they were supposed to show up and Centerville was going to roll over. WA has a very good team but they better pull it together.
  16. I wasn’t there tonight but it looks like WC stood toe to toe with GC. WC had the ball 1st and goal with 10 seconds left. Driving to tie the game final was 20-13
  17. I just watched it that’s crazy.
  18. This may be the beginning of things to come in high school sports. Just look at all the fights.I know at WC we had the famous one in the stands recently. We had to stop a game early against Natchez. We had an incident a couple of years ago where extra security and outside police departments were brought in they were drones being flown all the news killed what is normally a very good gate game. But hey I’ll take safety over a gate any day. It wasn’t long ago Meridian had to play someone in an empty Ray Stadium.
  19. You would be surprised at the people I see just packing up and heading home when the horn sounds.
  20. I film at WC I have for more years than I care to admit lol. I never stop my camera well actually it’s a tablet now but anyway I always get the handshake line
  21. He was one of the good guys. Honestly we had some pretty good teachers back then that really took the time to get to know us. A lot more good than bad
  22. He was a good coach he didn’t have a lot of basketball talent at Beat Four but you played hard and fundamentally sound.
  23. He coached Basketball at Beat Four many moons ago when I was there lol. Last I had heard from him he had retired and was living in Greene County. I believe he was from there or his wife. Stanley was a good man
