WC showed up to play it was back and forth the first half. The defense made some adjustments at halftime and really got after their tails the second half. Coach Lampley called a good game and the guys executed well. I had heard rumblings that Stone was the big dog in the region so this is a big win for WC.

agreed but the game Friday sure brought back some of that fire. I have had the chance to go watch my Grandson once this year because many of you know my wife is battling cancer again. But I watch every game I can and Friday those kids competed their tails off. Another thing at the end of the game Lampley showed he was paying attention and knows how to manage the clock when a self admitted mistake by WJ coach almost let WC at least tie the game up. So yes be excited and back these kids up!!!

If Lampley got his hands on some old game film he should show them what this rivalry once was. Then he should say this can be the group that can bring it back. Let them know it won’t be easy but nothing worth a crap is easy. Tell them what the rivalry meant to both communities and tell them to go put their stamp on one of the all time great games Yall vs Us let tell them to go look it up on YouTube and let it fire them up. Kids today are different sure you have the standouts that are self motivated. But it’s harder today to get teams to be self motivated

Yeah all those Catholic schools in that area are about that size but all recruit from everywhere. Most are loaded with talent, a few years ago Wayne County played Arch Bishop Rummel on ESPN. Almost every player they had was D1 lol. Like you I’m pulling for Louisville and yes they expect to win no matter who they are playing it’s in their DNA.

I believe it’s this year they do them around October but don’t release them until Championship week. I could be wrong but I think it’s this year

Absolutely!!!!! The only thing about Hughes is the visitors bleachers are almost in the road a busy road with your back to the traffic lol

WA plays them they beat WA right at the end may have been OT not sure about that part. They had a stud running back that graduated. WA goes to there this season they were pretty salty last season. He’s old school blood and guts wing T coach.

It’s Forrest Hill right if so I think they have a field on campus. The last time I was there it was down under a hill. Now I could be dead wrong I’ve been to so many places. But Jim Hill and Wingfield unusually played at Hughes field in Jackson.

The best looking group I saw come up in awhile

Yes sir good mix of athletes also the classes behind in the 7th and 8th grade. I know sometimes it’s hard to tell about kids that age but some really good talent there

You better get your licks in on WC now. They have a group of Freshmen and another group coming behind them that can flat out play. The freshmen have that size and nastyness of the old powerhouse WC teams. I would not be shocked to see some of those kids playing varsity before the season is over. The defensive and offensive lines are really good and for freshman they are nasty lol

He’s a really good coach

Petal is an average team with above average coaching. They have a few good players but a hall of fame head coach that makes really good in game adjustments. Oak Grove is loaded with talent again but so was Hattiesburg. I’m going to add this as well I really like Coach Lacey at Hattiesburg. Slick and I were discussing him Saturday it’s hard to believe that’s his first head job I believe I’m correct on that. back to your OG/ Petal question where is the game this year? If at Petal I’ll take Petal

I am going to add this Slick I hope you don’t mind. People that are questioning going for two with seven seconds instead of playing for the tie. Remember the high school overtime rule places the ball on the ten yard line. I just believe Coach Lampley thinks we had a better chance of getting two point conversion than stopping them from ten yards out.

lol I would get two or three calls a week from Bobby. Back then we did Polls and we would call and compare teams from North and South. We would normally release them on Sundays Several of us got together I know it was me, WABO, Bobby and several more from north Ms I believe Slick was in too. The board was much better then a lot more information

Every time I see a Baldwin post I think of my friend OldTiger. Bobby was one of a kind a very good friend and he loved his Bearcats

I believe the Wayne County/PRC game will be pretty good . A lot of excitement around Tracy Lampley returning home to hopefully revive some life into a program he stared for as a player. On the other hand a lot of talk about PRC being really good. I know they are not the wing t PRC . Game will be in Waynesboro let’s see if WC can bring that home field advantage back into play. That was once one of the toughest trips in the state in recent years not so much
