I was expecting this to be the best game of the weekend. The refs wanted the spotlight, I’m not sure if the outcome would’ve been different but man I hate it played out that way. Right now the 1A game is the best game

Absolutely one of the best team defenses I can remember. That’s coming from a WC fan and we’ve had some great defenses come through WC. We also had a very good QB come through WC named Corey Reynolds. I know WJ is a friendly rival. But I use to work with Corey’s dad he was a good man and passed away a few years ago. He was always proud of Corey and his brother Adam and would share their accomplishments with whoever was listening like any proud father would. So I know he was gleaming last night. So as a WC fan I was pulling for the enemy last night great season Coach Reynolds and your Staff and team.

Wow I didn’t see this coming. I knew WJ was tuff on defense but hats off to Grenada as well

5A Laurel vs WP well WP is WP they are going to do what they do. They will run the ball down your throat. Laurel they have some athletes and they are big. They have some speed in the backfield and outside. The QB IMO is playing out of position I’m not sure if they had an injury or he’s all they have. They had a lot of turnovers in our game. My pick is WP well I went 1 for 2 yesterday but I was almost spot on with how they would or could play out. I was wrong about Laurel’s Qb the young man can play Qb.

I picked Velma Jackson but also said to win they had to stop the big play. Biggersville killed them with the slant and broke a couple for long runs after the catch

7A is a toss up to me. Both teams can be suspect on defense. Both offenses are explosive. I do believe OG has more weapons. My pick OG 6A WJ vs Grenada man Grenada has had a really good season and has plenty of talent. But WJ wow this is the best defense I have seen in a few year. Their offense has peaked at the right time. The scary part is a freshman QB, a Jr power back and a sophomore scat back. Their offensive and defensive lines look like college lines lol. They are very well coached and don’t beat their self. Louisville on the other hand lol they are Louisville fast and physical man. I know I said WJ was the best defense but this one is not bad. My pick Louisville 3A Noxubee vs Winona another great matchup both teams have outstanding QBs Noxubee they are battle tested. Their skilled players are very good. Winona another one of those smash mouth physical teams. Both teams are going to hit you in the mouth not for the faint of heart lol. My pick Winona 2A Heidelberg vs Charleston.. First year HC Daryl Carter has got his team to buy in. The past two weeks they have defeated Bay Springs and Raleigh behind a Freshman QB I believe. Protecting the ball is key for the oilers. Charleston is no stranger to Championship game but it hasn’t always been good to them. This team is a little different I believe they are on a mission to get the jinx off of them and have the talent to do so. My pick Charleston 1A Biggersville vs Velma Jackson two really good teams with athletes galore. Velma Jackson is making their first championship game in football so they can’t come in nervous. They fell behind early against Taylorsville last week before barn storming back. If they fall behind this week I don’t see that come back. Biggersville this will be the best team Velma has played . They better matchup and avoid the big play. My pick Velma Jackson

The thing is Corey was in the building at Petal and was looked over as HC. So he went to OG I believe for a year before taking the WJ job. With what he brings back I can’t see him leaving. I could be wrong it definitely wouldn’t be the first time lol.

They had one of the best if not the best coaches in Mississippi. Marcus Boyles couldn’t get a title there I don’t know who will. Another example Coach Barr won a lot of games at Petal but no titles. He left for OG at a time when OG wasn’t winning and turned that into a championship program. I’m not downgrading Petal at all very good School great facilities. I just don’t know what it would take to win at football there.

WP kept same Coach forever. WC has had three coaches in six years that makes a difference. We kept Coach Boyles 12 years and he put a lot of emphasis on the five middle schools in the county. He knew that was his future so there we’re good coaches at them and they played quality competition. That’s not the case now and they only play within the county. It helps when you play Meridian,Laurel,Petal,OG and Hattiesburg. You develop players then

So it’s ok to joke at one man’s expense ? Who decides if it a joke of something libelous? Coach Hankins is actually a very good friend of mine and I didn’t like it and find it offensive.

Ok I agree with you to a point. But why single him out and let someone else leave a picture of Coach Hankins up? I try to never say anything negative about anyone by name especially a kid that’s just wrong. We all get on here and have for years and had great conversation and made good friendships.

I say this with no disrespect for any team we played but WJ was without question the best defensive team we’ve faced in a few years. When we played earlier this season they were still searching on offense but it looks like they have found their identity. Being from WC it was hard to pull for WJ lol but y’all hired one of our own as a coach. Good Luck Corey Reynolds and your team.
