Slick and I were texting back and forth all weekend about the games. We learned two things over the weekend. 1) if we picked your team we’re sorry because they probably lost lol We are not very good prognosticators. 2) these were some of the best matchups in years if not ever. Congratulations to all the teams who played for a title. It’s an honor to be in that position. If you were lucky enough to win enjoy it. The Kid from Gulfport made the memory of a lifetime with that game winning catch.

Slick I’m with you on this one I’m going Hattiesburg. When Lacy first took the job I really thought HHS had made a mistake. He’s really a good coach in my books he’s better than Vance. Hattiesburg always has some elite athletes this season is no different. I know Warren Central has a really good Quarterback that’s just a JR I believe and he comes from a football bloodline. I hope I don’t jinx anyone lol.

If it wasn’t for Brookhaven turning the ball over four times this game would have really been ugly. I will be the first to admit I was wrong on this game. I hadn’t watched either team before last night and made my prediction strictly off of WP history. Last night Brookhaven was without question the best team. Their defensive front was really good and controlled the line of scrimmage. When they came out the second half they just wanted it more and played with a chip on their shoulder. This is just a slap on the wrist as to what could have happened to them. The MAIS handled both this situation and the Marshal situation terribly. In a sense they rewarded Marshal with exactly what they wanted to start with a division II championship. The Brookhaven Academy situation come on a $1500 fine really what is that going to do. The coach that actually grabbed the kid should have been fired period.

King at Hancock can flat out coach. With the talent he would have at Pascagoula he would have them in contention every year.

You’re right they did on the scoreboard. The MAIS could stop some of that poor sportsmanship by making an example out of some of them.

The coach that grabbed the player by the face mask wasn’t ejected so I read in an article.

If the first one that made contact was a player he should be out of school and the coaches involved definitely fired

Slick I really like this coach at Hattiesburg. I wasn’t sure about him when they hired him but he knows what he’s doing.. you’re right about defense but they are very explosive on offense.

The Graveyard does crazy things to these games. In all seriousness that’s a hard place to win it always seems to come down to a big call. No I’m not saying they cheat. I’m a firm believer to win a state championship you have to have three things. 1) Luck- you have to have the ball bounce your way be it Turnovers, kick off the upright or dropped pass something of that nature, 2) You have to stay healthy and not many teams do. 3) Breaks from the refs you have to have some calls go in your favor

My Grandson’s team played ACCS last week they are a tough gritty team. Most of the time Karma comes back around. I do hate it for Marshal’s kids but not all the people who knew about the plan and it was more than the HC.

I knew that I wasn’t meaning anything by that. WA is just so young starting five freshmen out of a freshman class of 21. But ACCS is really talented I don’t know much about Marshall

This ACCS team is a really good team. WA had their key player taken off in an ambulance early in the second quarter and that completely deflated them. They continued to fight but not the same team at all.
