JDC has only lost 2 games this year, Columbia and Bay Springs. I'm glad the Sims kid is back playing football, and he certainly makes Enterprise better, but I just don't see Enterprise ending JDC's season.

Look Hattiesburg is still a good team. WJ jumped on them quickly, and they got down on their selves. RB Wade was as good as we've seen this year, and should play on Saturdays somewhere, but Hattiesburg will have to be able to complete some passes when it's 2nd and long or even on 1st and 10 to keep defenses honest. They have tall and fast receivers, just need to throw the quick passes outside or underneath, to bring the CBs up some to setup the longer shots downfield. I expected them to throw it more early on last night than they did.

yeah Laurel always seems to be in the mix this time of year, and you don't know which flavor you will get. As bad as they got thumped last week by WC, they could show up for this game and look like state champs at the Brick yard. Just never know.

Last I remember 1976 1977 Coach Sonny Farrah. His running back was Donald Ray King that played 4 years at Miss State. Only 45 years ago.

Like I mentioned earlier, I like WJ chances if Hattiesburg has to drive 70-80 yards to score. There are good athletes at the skill positions for both teams, so it really comes down to the offensive and defensive line play, turnovers, and special teams. I feel that WJ has a big advantage at kicker. He was above average last year, and has only gotten better. You don't see it often in high school football, but this may be his signature game. so far Corey has been ok, but he inherited a good program and really experienced bunch, especially on the defensive side. Tomorrow night will be his 1st moment to really shine. (or not)

it's scheduled to be streamed on the NFHS network. A monthly pass costs $12.83. With the final regular season games and playoffs coming up, $12 ain't bad and they have a lot of Mississippi games on it each week. Also, they have other sports too, basketball,..etc.

you may be right. WJ has 2 good running backs, and one of them is 6"2 and 225. He was the starter last year that got hurt in Game 1 and missed the season. The other is the kid that took his place last year. I think it boils down to can the WJ line open holes for them, keep ahead of the chains, keep them out of 3rd and long, and win the field position battle. If they can do that and force Hattiesburg offense to drive 70 to 80 yards, I like our chances.

When the new regions and the schedules came out, this was the game everyone circled in 3-6A to decide the title, and here it is. This is the best defense Hattiesburg has faced, but at the same time, the Hattiesburg defense is probably the best West Jones has faced. Which offense can move the ball enough to balance time of possession, win the field position, and not turn over the ball? Special teams may be a big factor too. WJ kicker is very good, most kickoffs are in the end zone, and has range up to 50 on field golds. Punting has been fine, nothing special but solid. Not sure what Hattiesburg has there. If West Jones can stop the run and force Hattiesburg into predictable passing downs, advantage West Jones, but the same can be said if Hattiesburg forces WJ and the 9th grade QB into a lot of 3rd and longs too. With these 2 defenses, one pick six, one scoop and score, or one big special teams return, could decide this game.

Well, both teams season should end right now. But, if we are going to stop this foolishness, there needs to be some REAL punishment dolled out to all the one's fighting, including the cheerleaders and spectators. No more slaps on the wrist. This is not getting better. "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results".

Hattiesburg just does not need to let Terry hang around in a 1-score game in the 2nd half. The West Jones Terry score should have been 10 or 14 to zero at half. West moved the ball the whole 1st half, went for it on 4th down twice in field goal range and were stopped. Then, threw an interception at the goal line right before halftime that led to the safety. In the 2nd half, Terry defense picked it up some, knowing they were still in the game and had a chance to pull the upset. They can throw it too, the lefty QB put some balls on the money late in that game that would have been TDs, if not for the WJ DB making a play.

I'm in the "Picayune by 2 to 3 scores" camp also. GC gave up 28 to Hancock and 34 to Hattiesburg. Not sure they have the defense to hang with the Tide for 4 quarters. I take it that the GC QB is really good, but scoring quickly against Picayune is not beneficial. All that does is put your defense back on the field quicker. Once your defense is gassed from the pounding, it's game over then.

The WJ bye came at a good time after the Terry game. With 2 weeks to clean up things, I expect a 100% improvement. WJ 4 Forest Hill 0.

Uh Laurel won by 2 scores, I think EC only scored 28.
