It’s a different world now in regards to signing day. You have to have a coaching staff that can recruit and sell the school AND you have to have a collective who is paying more for a player than someone else. I’m not sure State has either. If you fail on those two fronts, you’ll lose games and the image of the program will keep dropping. Mullen had State respected in the college football world, and even under Leach they were known to be a team you need to be ready for. Now there is no respect and it’s a bad time to be in that spot.

This year OM would have benefited from a head to head with Bama - assuming they would have won. Losses to UK/Florida/LSU cancel out losses to Vandy/Oklahoma/TN. Plus Bana drilled LSU. OM looked better in wins against GA and SC, but each team won those games. Then there’s the name on the jersey. OM had no business losing more than 1 with their schedule. I’m looking forward to the championship games this weekend. Six or seven of the 12 playoff teams will be in action.

You are right about that. No matter who it is, there will be some fans going off. I think it will look like the AP poll. Arizona State at 12 so they only have to put one of Bama, SCarolina or OM in the 12. Maybe not drop Clemson so much, then the committee hopes Clemson wins the ACC and they can reason leaving all three SEC teams out.

Kiffin and Beamer on X like they’re running for office. Both are making such a good case, it definitely means neither will be in. Lol

Really surprised SC jumped OM in both polls. Georgia was a better win than Clemson and the OM win against SCarolina was better than the SC win over A&M and IT WAS AGAINST SOUTH CAROLINA. SC did have better losses, but OM looked rather average the last two games after looking unbeatable against Georgia. Maybe the committee has more respect for OM than these other pollsters.

ESPN has 13 “experts” that have been predicting the 12 teams each week. This week 8 of them have SCarolina in the 12. I was not expecting that many. One has Alabama. No love for OM. A positive for OM fans though is almost 3/4 of them had that fourth SEC team which could be any of the three between Bama, OM and SC. With all of them winning you wouldn’t think they’d jump each other, but they have SC jumping both. That Clemson win just isn’t as impressive as OM or Bama beating Georgia plus both of those beat SC.

Arizona State did it with a pitchfork too. Lol. I’m okay with the conference champ auto bid, but not auto byes for them.

I was about to say as of now, I don’t see any of the three. That could change next weekend, but if I had to pick one it would be Bama.

Funny how the Ohio State/Michgan game switches the heat on coaches. Before the Michigan win, it appeared Michgan fans and more importantly alumni with deep pockets thought they had hired the wrong guy. They supposedly had admitted it was just a hire to keep the team together. An OM alumni and collective member I know told me a week ago that there were rumblings of contact with Kiffin. I haven’t read that anywhere or heard it from anyone else though.

What does Miami’s loss do to the ACC and say Bama? We may not really know until after the ACC championship.

Now Miami and Syracuse are tied as well as ND and USC. I heard earlier that USC has 5 losses and led in the 4th in all 5.

They had the pepper spray out after that game. Lol

During the Bama game, they mentioned that Bama’s chances to make the playoff actually dropped a little after the SCarolina win over Clemson.

As of now, the Clemson loss helps Alabama.

Looks like it’s going to be one of those days. Vandy up 14-0 on Tennessee already.

For 8 OTs we had to hear “get a stop and you’re in” or “score here and you’re in”. Every single time.

Hell of a game between UGA and GA Tech. I’m still not sure I like just lining up and going for two deciding games. This one was entertaining though.

GA Tech outplaying Georgia early. Am I the only one that isn’t impressed with Beck. The announcers hype him up each week, but he hasn’t been consistent the whole time he’s started. I think he’s still projected as one of the top 5 QBs in the draft though, so what do I know.

SCarolina over Clemson would be a plus. I don’t see them moving SC over OM with the head to head being such a wide margin. ND/USC and Vandy/TN are others to keep an eye on. Anything is possible this year. They really just need three, maybe two, of any of those combos. It’s been a crazy year. What are the odds all the favorites win this weekend.

Someone needs to tell State that OM does not need any help winning.

I can’t believe the number of State AND OM fans that have said they’re probably not even watching the game. I don’t believe any of them, but they’ve never talked like that before.
