Brakefield looked like an All American the second half. Tennessee didn’t have anyone that could guard him. It’s got to be frustrating to look so good against good teams and look average against average teams, but at least you OM knows they can beat a top team. They’ve got the Ws to prove it.

That is absolutely insane. Most teams can’t go 22-45 in shoot arounds. Let State guard you and your 20% three point sub off the bench will look like Steph Curry.

State gave up 54 points to a Top 10 team then turned around the next game and gave up 59 SECOND HALF points to 3-10 SEC team.

Total egg laid by State today against a team that had 3 SEC wins and several blowout losses. If State’s goal was just to make the NCAAT, congrats.

Did I mention I’m not a gambler. Looking at the stats, State still shot bad from 3, but OM didn’t go off like most teams have. OM has some big wins, so this won’t hurt them much. State was in a must win situation. The Bama/Auburn atmosphere was pretty good. I was expecting more going on around the arena, but it was like 10 till 3 and all of a sudden the stadium was full. It got pretty loud when Bama tied it late, but I don’t think they ever took the lead.

Im not a gambler, but that seems like a lock. I’m about to head to Tuscaloosa to watch Bama and Auburn and don’t care who wins. lol. Just give me a couple OTs.

OM has about 5 guys that can get hot from three. At least 4 that are pretty consistent if they have open looks. I don’t see OM winning by less than double digits at home. Possibly another game State gets down by 20-30 at some point.

If you can’t shoot, you have to play defense. If you can’t play defense you have to score. The last few years state cooks by shoot, but they were in every game because they played physical and athletic. Now they aren’t doing either.

State needs a hot start, but I can definitely see SC being mentally bummed after losing earlier this week.

That’s insane. NC’s should always trump losing to your rival. As good as Ohio State was, that shows how unpredictable rivalry games can be.

Same thing happened in the SC and UF game. Florida never lead until the last basket.

Right. OM was a different team with Murrell on the court. Those two quick fouls caused him to sit most of the first half. State got a huge boost with Kugal being back. 21 for him and some clutch shots and FTs

Tennessee fell to Vandy on the road by a point, but they’re a different team at home. They’ve won both SEC home games by around 20. That’s going to be a tough one for State. I don’t think A&M is as good as they’re ranking, so I expect OM to get back on track at home. After getting manhandled by OM at home, Bama puts up 100+ at Kentucky. Auburn has another close road win at Georgia.

Great game. Both State and OM are good teams and very well coached.

And now Georgia is down by 21. That’s why you take college basketball one game at a time. Or one half. lol

Two game skid, have given up a ton of threes (while playing with a lot of effort), a team coming in that can shoot and already have one home loss. It sure feels like a must win for State. At the very least for State, Hubbard has to shoot better.

OM is four games into a very tough SEC and they already have 2 road wins. That’s huge.

If OM can hold on this be a sneaky 4-0 in the SEC. A win at Bama would be a statement.

State is still a legit good defensive team. Just looking at some stats, Almonar for KY averages just under 5 points per game, and he hit 3 straight three pointers when State made the comeback in the second half. Robinson for KY averages 29% from three. He hit 7-10. It’s tough to win when several guys step up and have big games, AND you go 12-40 from three. Teams are getting physical with Hubbard and he’s having a tough time getting shots off.

I was surprised to see Beck to Miami, although I was more surprised that Beck was so high on people’s QB draft rankings.

I’m not sure there was a team State could have beaten if they had 8 thru 15 on the schedule.

He really looks like he doesn’t care, and his players looked sloppy as can be.

Big win for OM. They have some shooters (and I’m not talking about Dia lol) so if one is having an off night someone else can pick up the slack. Pedulla was a huge transfer pickup.

They’re 14-1 and ranked number 1. They will look very good more than they will look bad.
