  1. https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/sec-football/cfp-selection-committee-announces-new-chair-multiple-new-members-for-2025/ Wesley Walls on the CFP committee.
  2. Ole Miss sweeps Wright State. Conference play will be here soon enough and we'll find out what kind of team OM actually has then.
  3. I'm not so sure Ole Miss was a "lock" had they lost 6 in a row to finish the season. At best, they'd have been a 9 seed and likely lower. Some auto bid stealing could have put them on the outside looking in. That win today definitely puts Ole Miss "IN". I'm guessing OM is projected about a 6-7 seed now, leaning 6. The next two games could really help the seeding (I think a 5 with a shot of 4 IF winning both). Losing both (which is very likely), OM will be lucky to get a 7 and most likely and 8. A lot will depend on how close the games are IF they're both losses... get blown out twice and it will be an 8/maybe 8 seed. Kudos to OM and MSU both for taking care of business against "lesser" teams today. I really like MSU's chances in the next two games to improve seeding vs Ole Miss's chances since MSU"s games are much more winnable.
  4. Neither loss today will hurt OM/MSU's chances of an NCAAT bid. A win would have kept them in the 5-6 seed conversation, the loss may push them to a 7-8 seed conversation.
  5. Ole Miss rebounded today to beat Clemson 15-5. 2-1 vs 3 ranked opponents, I'll take it.
  6. I feel somewhat bad for South Carolina. 0-11 in SEC play now but have played so many ranked teams close at home... only to lose every one of them. It's a relief USCe didn't pull off the first SEC win against Ole Miss tonight.
  7. Ugly wins are still wins, and road wins (even when ugly) are still good wins. MSU and Ole Miss took care of business today.
  8. It wasn't a "must win" but definitely a "needed win" for Ole Miss. This win gives some cushion for Ole Miss to lose a game they shouldn't- which can definitely happen.
  9. A LOT of basketball left to play, but this is definitely a signature win for Ole Miss IF they're a bubble team... hopefully a signature win to help with a better seed. We'll see.
  10. Bryce will still be shown 100 times during the NCAAT though.
  11. Vandy was the only road team to win yesterday. Road wins won't come easy in the SEC this year. As mentioned already, OM and MSU really need to win all of their home games.
  12. With the UGA loss and Ole Miss win, the SEC is 8-6 in bowl games with only Texas left playing. I really don't like Texas' chances vs Ohio State but we'll see. Ole Miss played very well against Duke for a 52-20 win. Personally, I wanted to see Simmons get quite a few snaps in the second half but I respect letting Dart keep playing since he asked to keep playing. Dart owns almost every Ole Miss QB stat record at Ole Miss now. The most passing TDs (Eli) is the only one I recall he didn't break in his 3 years here. Dart also passed Prescott as an SEC QB with most yards (passing+rushing)... who would have guessed that?
  13. SEC improves to 7-5 with the Texas win.
  14. Sugar Bowl (Georgia/ND) rescheduled for tomorrow at 3 CST.
  15. No doubt on SC/ILL... great watch. The "other bowl games" have been pretty good for the most part, much better than I expected. Franco Harris... we may be the only 2 on here old enough to remember him! Ha
  16. Bama and South Carolina lost, LSU won. The SEC is now 6-5 in Bowl games. Texas and Georgia play tomorrow in playoff games. Ole Miss is the only other non playoff SEC bowl game left, they play Thursday.
  17. Missouri took care of Iowa in a pretty dang good game, 27-24. SEC moves to a tad more respectable 5-3 in bowl games. Alabama, South Carolina, and LSU play tomorrow.
  18. Not just by him, but yeah. With just under 2 minutes to go: Memphis is shooting 49.2%, 38.9% on 3 pointers. Memphis has rebounded 11 more times than Ole Miss. That's pretty dominant by Memphis today. Kudos to them.
  19. I don't know, Baylor and Louisiana State could be pretty interesting. **
  20. Vandy and Arkansas won, A&M lost yesterday. SEC is 4-3 in bowls so far.
  21. Oklahoma lost to Navy 21-20. SEC is 2-2 in bowl games so far. Vandy is playing now (leading Georgia Tech 14-10 in the third quarter). Arkansas and A&M play later tonight.
  22. Fluff Bothwell has to be a tough SOB, almost like being a boy named Sue.
  23. I saw MSU handled Memphis 79-66, very nice win. Kudos.
