I thought Liberty may keep it interesting until mid/late third quarter, but I sure didn't think Liberty would lead like this. Arkansas trying to mount a comeback early in the 4th.
-
Liberty all over Arkansas 21-0 in the first half. Freeze to Auburn?
-
I'm not sure why I thought the game was at Auburn, being in Starkville... I like my MSU pick to win better.
-
MSU@AUB is a weird pick. Sometimes an interim coach coaches with nothing to lose and the players rally behind that... other times, an interim coach is a disaster. I'm picking MSU to win, but nothing would surprise me in this game. UT is the current #1, that's certainly debatable between them and others. The winner of the UT/UGA game should be (will be I'd wager) #1. Give me UGA. LSU seems to be improving weekly while Alabama looks beatable by good teams this year. Still, how often does a Nick Saban Alabama team lose twice in the regular season? Picking LSU at home may make sense, but I'll take Bama. I'll take A&M at home I guess. Betting on this game is dumb IMO. I agree on Kentucky and Arkansas. Both teams should win easily but those could be surprising games.

Ron Zook? LULZ, zero chance of that happening.

I watched the end of the Falcons/Panthers game. The Panthers scored a TD at the end to tie it with a PAT pending to win. The Panther's WR got a celebration penalty (last name Moore ironically) and the kicker missed the PAT to send it to OT. It reminded me of the egg bowl "piss and miss", just a dumb costly penalty hurting your team. Had the Panthers won, there would be a 4 way tie for the NFC south at 3-5. This year's NFC South looks like last year's NFC East... just a bunch of struggling teams. No idea who wins this division, but Brady leading the Bucs is probably the smart bet... maybe? The Seahawks are a fun surprise after getting rid of WIlson and Geno Smith is TCB at a fraction of the cost. The 49ers seem to be the team putting things together at the right time in that division right now.

Any chance MSU hires Bjork? I have a feeling he'll be available in the near future.
-
8-1 is certainly nice for OM and OM deserves credit for that start. At the same time, an 8-4 finish isn't off the table... at all. I'm not taking anything away from A&M, but honestly- @ A&M (while tough) is probably the "easiest" game left this year for OM when you look at hosting Bama and MSU while traveling to Arkansas.

Jon Sokoloff on Twitter: "SOURCE: Auburn has hired #MississippiState Athletic Director John Cohen to be the school’s new AD. The deal is done." / Twitter Supposedly a "done deal". Cohen has done fine (not great, certainly not bad) at MSU, I would have guessed Auburn went after a bigger name/more experience/etc. We'll see how that plays out. 83, I was pretty surprised (and thankful) A&M took Bjork.

Brady and the Bucs are 3-5 after tonight. I wish I would have put money on that preseason, I doubt many did. Hindsight 2022 NFL bets few would have made: Bucs 3-5 with Brady back. Giants 6-1 (probably a bigger surprise than Bucs 3-5?) Jets 5-2.

USM wins 39-24 to move to 5-3 on the season. I agree with D83, too early for Will Hall to make a jump up, but he'll get some looks soon... I suspect next year he'll get a bigger offer and leave.
-
USM is up 29-11 at the half tonight.

I forgot to comment on Gameday at Jackson State. I don't know that JSU is paying Sanders, but it HAS to be worth every penny. The national attention JSU has gotten since hiring Sanders (College Gameday is just one big example) likely won't be matched by any future coach at JSU.
-
I'll add Louisiana at Southern Miss tomorrow night. It's certainly no national game, but Will Hall is doing a good job of turning around USM. A win tomorrow puts USM at 5-3 which is a nice improvement. I'll take USM. Ole Miss SHOULD win at College Station. I'm picking OM to win, but not with much confidence. OM's schedule is very back loaded and this is (on paper) the easiest game left. Lose this game, and 7-5 is certainly a possibility. I like UT to win. I like Arkansas to win. I like UGA big over UF. Ohio State over Penn State.

LSU controlled the entire game after the 1st quarter. LSU flat outplayed OM today, props to them.
-
21-10 Cuse early in the 4th quarter.
-
IF Ole Miss plays 4 full quarters well, I'd bet heavily OM wins. Since that hasn't happened in 7 games, this will be a close game IMO. I lean LSU wins since they host. Bama wins, but I think MSU keeps is closer than most think. A&M is favored, but I'm with you 83... South Carolina wins at home. I'm rooting for Shrader and the Cuse, but I wouldn't bet on them winning at Clemson. Two other top 25 matchups: #9 UCLA at #10 Oregon. Oregon is favored by 6. I lean UCLA covers, and possibly wins. #20 Texas at #11 Oklahoma State. Texas is favored by 6.5. IF I bet on sports, this is the one game this weekend I'd be tempted to throw money at. I feel pretty good that OSU will not only cover, but win the game.

Bama certainly looks more beatable this year vs previous years. I'll say the same of other recent "lock picks for a NC" this year. To me, Ohio State has looked the most consistent team this year so far. As much as I dislike Michigan, I'd put them at #2. Georgia is the current #1 but I'd put them #3. They've flirted with losses, I think they'll lose somewhere... maybe vs UT? Clemson keeps winning but certainly have looked beatable. I wouldn't put money on it, but it's not crazy (right now) to think an Ole Miss vs Tennessee matchup in Atlanta. How crazy would that be after last years game with golf balls and mustard bottles? IF I had to put money on it today, I'd stick with Bama vs UGA in Atlanta.
-
Yep 83, the rest of the season should be a fun watch. I thought UT was pretty good, but I didn't think they'd beat Bama... kudos for the job done at UT. The UT/UGA game should be a great one. OM has a tough trip to LSU this weekend. IF OM wins, they stay atop the SECW. IF LSU wins, they'll be on top of the SECW with Bama IF Bama beats MSU next week. BAMA has MSU, bye, @ LSU, and @ Ole Miss the next 4 weeks. Bama RARELY loses 2 regular season games since Saban got the machine oiled... them running the regular season table is probably a good bet.

Better than a stop is an interception returned for a TD. Fun game so far.
-
UT wins 52-49. That was a great game to watch.
-
Tied at 42 with 8:38 to go. These teams may break 100 points combined.
-
42-35 UT. I picked 69 total points in this game, obviously too low.
-
35-34 Bama leads now.
