I would just like to see them make an improvement. Those boys up there deserve to win some football games.
-
All they would need to do is just win a couple of games to reverse the trajectory. It sounds simple and easy enough, but that's a very big challenge. Is it doable? Sure, but it's like trudging through buckshot gumbo delta mud.

@Big Poppalet me put it to you this way. They broke a record for fewest points scored in district play since the start of the MHSAA. That record was 42 points and it was set in consecutive seasons in 2008 & 2009. This past year they beat that record by a point with 41 points scored. You would think the only direction to go would be up, but for some reason or another that hasn't been the trajectory. Will that trajectory change? I honestly have no idea, but it needs to.

The geographical area between Picayune and Poplarville.

Who's ready for some spring football? LOL! I hate this lull between the end of the State Championships to when spring football starts back up. Will we see any cellar dwellers make any significant improvements during this offseason, or will it be more of the same? I feel like West Harrison and Long Beach are trying to make positive strides in Region 4 and that would definitely elevate the competition if they do get better. There's still this big hovering cloud in 6A South, but will we even see a pulse under that cloud? Some things just have no explanation and even if they do, why is that acceptable? Maybe there's a solution out there, but if there is it sure isn't visible to the naked eye. It could be one of those situations where you have to dig deep to find the solution and things aren't excavated to the depth they need to be. It's one of those enigmas that will leave you scratching your head and yet it does no good. Those kids need some positive hope and I hope they get it.

That's a hire Meridian needs to get right. If not, it would be a huge detriment to them. As long as they are being diligent about the hire, they should be able to get the right person in there.

How many inches did everyone get?

What is snow? LOL! My truck was iced over this morning if that counts for something. Snow in Pearl River County, especially South of Picayune is definitely an anomaly. -
I did, but I was being greedy LOL! I’m very well aware if State gets 6 wins this coming season, it’ll be a great footing for Lebby. If he gets it to 7 with a bowl win that’ll be even better.

I’m like Radio, “Give me both.” LOL! But I just figured if Kiffin was a definite no on the Alabama job, then something official would have been posted as a statement from him stating such. Just like how Lanning got a statement out today.

Got a link you can post?

Tennessee was 5th in the NET yesterday and now Alabama is 5th in the NET today. They just swapped places, so State is going to have to keep that high level of play going. Can't let off the gas pedal now.

Hopefully State will enjoy this win tonight and then quickly turn the page to Alabama next. State just needs to keep improving and playing up to their potential.

Big Basketball win! Go State!

I bet Daniel Hill is feeling swell.

When Mississippi State is your attendance leader, something isn't quite right.

Or Georgia State for that matter. Baseball stadiums do not make good football stadiums. It becomes a goofy mess. Now if you wanted to raze the thing and put a 20K seat football stadium with 10K on each side if you couldn’t get another minor league team as a primary tenant, then that could be the viable solution to having that central location for the State Title games.

@coastfootballfanmangreat analysis there. Very well analyzed and informative and you can't really argue with any of it. I'm certainly not saying Picayune will win district again, but we do get Pascagoula and George County at home this year. To not have to make those trips this year certainly is a blessing in and of itself. Having that homefield advantage for your two toughest district opponents can't be a bad thing.

The more you make, the more they take. Maybe he didn't want to get taxed in the higher tax bracket LOL!

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

You’re right. I was just coming up with names off the top of my head. Ha!

It's probably pronounced "Nilla" as in Nilla wafers. That's got to be correct.

I'm assuming the K isn't silent. LOL!

From DD Lewis, TJ Mawhinney, Richie Brown, and Jett Johnson to name a few, State has kept the lineage going LOL!

State beefed up the linebacking corps with the addition of Stone Blanton. He should be able to come in and be an immediate starting contributor.

I know we'll have some good tailbacks, but I hope we'll have a good fullback as well. Having a good fullback will pay dividends in that offense. I remember a time when we didn't have a good starting fullback and the offense definitely suffered because of it. Thankfully that was many moons ago.
