Mississippi College dropping football
maroontide06 replied to Vott's topic in Mississippi College Sports
They still have track & soccer, so it will still get used. Might have to change the turf though. -
Do y’all like the St. Joe Brick from down here in Pearl River? Will that brick be sufficient for the trophy?

With Picayune and George County already recently faced each other, what kind of coaching adjustments will have been made from the initial meet-up until now? Both teams know what the other team is going to do. There's no surprises with Picayune, so do you prepare differently or focus on correcting the problems from the first meeting? (You might do neither). It's really an interesting predicament to be in. It could be just a line up and play type game with on-the-fly coaching adjustments as well.

Also during this season Cam Thomas led the nation in rushing yardage. Nobody else has averaged over 50ppg. That whole season was a beauty to watch.

I don’t know if I’m ready to even attempt to answer that question. Pascagoula has gotten extremely hot and when George County is on, they are a legitimate threat. The home teams might have a slight advantage, but it won’t take much to negate that either.

Poplarville is no longer the dark horse.

Go Hornets !

Wow! They pulled it off!

Speaking of John Curtis, are they still playing their home games at the Shrine on Airline? At least you would get some nice chairbacks to sit in for an away game if they are still playing there.
-
Get them on a home and home or something like that so that way you get them for two years. It'd make for a great game.
-
Really? You've got to be kidding me. It did mean something to the State of Mississippi and it did mean something to the region. It was a great win.
-
We will probably have our usual mix of Gulfport, d'Iberville, & Ocean Springs which I'm perfectly fine with. If I had to pick some others I would go with Oak Grove, John Curtis, & Poplarville.
-
Are they running the old T-formation that Coach Branch ran when he was QB for Pearl River under Dobie Holden and QB for Mississippi State under Slick Morton? If not, it's got to be one of those old school offenses in that wheelhouse.
-
If we got to that number, we'd be considered a pass heavy offensive team LOL.

Well there's Poplarville at Columbia tonight. I understand Columbia being the favorite, but Poplarville will put up one heck of a fight. Don't write Poplarville off.
