Those 2 losses were at home and now they have to travel to Southaven who is 2-0 with wins over Winona & Columbus both on the road. It feels like they might be sitting 0-3 after Friday night.

Exactly. The non-division portion of the schedule has no bearing on the playoffs.

The two teams that have contaminated West Point's dominance since 2016 have been West Jones (2020) & Picayune (2021 & 2022). Both of those programs are now 6A. Unfortunately the only real competition they get is from teams outside of their classification.

You can't help but feel sorry for the team that wins 5A South. That's supposed to be a happy time for the 5A South winner.

We’re gonna have to have some players step up. I think they will, but I also think they let the wind fall out the sails last week as well. With finally being back at home hopefully we’ll get a complete 48 minute ballgame. If they play as hard as #32 would want them to play, we’ll be just fine.

You may have to take this with a grain of salt or the whole box of salt, but if State can start 4-0 I think they can snag a couple of SEC wins. Why would you have that type of turnaround just to come up empty handed in conference play? It doesn't make sense, so that's why I think they can get a couple of wins in conference play, and if they get more than a couple of wins then you can definitely make a case for National Coach of the Year accolades as well.

PRC is 2-0 to start the season for the 1st time since 2015. They will probably beat East Central this week to go to 3-0. They also have a legitimate chance to go 4-1 before district play starts. Might even be 5-0 if they can upset Poplarville.

@ArcherI’m genuinely curious to see your thoughts are on Biloxi. What were the problems they gave Pascagoula and is that something that can be mitigated by a future opponent?

Did the talent just fall off at George or is it a combination of factors?
